Hi all,

I picked up some fox union flat shoes and tbh not that impressed.

Well built and stiff (not such a bad thing) but not a patch on my old old old 510s as far as grip is concerned.

Any pedal recommendations to get the most out of these? Most reviews say they are mega sticky……. Not to me

I found them to be very good and would buy again although freerider pro are the best in my opinion. I use Burgtec MK5’s and the fox work well with them.

I like the Fox Unions... I feel their more durable than current gen Freerider Pros. They aren't as sticky, but plenty sticky. I run them with Wolftooth Waveform pedals, also run OneUp alloys in the past. I'd buy whatever had a better price, assuming both fit and feel good. I tear up Freerider soles really fast...

I think I got my last Fox Unions on clearance from Planet Cyclery for $45. Same with Freeriders, but more like $80 IIRC. I have a love/hate with flats, because I seem to never get more than a season out of a pair. Plus the pedal/pins get very beat up. Whereas, my clipless shoes easily last 3X longer and the pedals just keep going. I switch back and forth between flats and clips.

thanks all - think ill switch to burgtec and try them, if that doesn't work switch back to five tens

and if that doesn't work some cable ties :)
