FoD (Dis)organised EMTBF Rideout - 21/11/2021

Should be in, anyone used a campsite locally for a campervan they can recommend for the Saturday night ? or anyone staying over, if so, where ? Looking foward to it.

Bracelands campsite or Whitemead are both nice, Bracelands if you’re happy with cheaper option and basic facilities.

Hi, I'm coming up the day before and staying in an Airbnb in Cinderford.. so only a few minutes away.

I was hoping to squeeze some extra riding in on the Saturday but by the time I arrive it'll likely be getting dark! I'll probably just have a nose around and enjoy the ride on Sunday instead.

@Tubby G asked a similar question recently on accommodation Trail Centre - Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, UK - EMTB Forums

I’m in, if you need help finding the off piste I know where most of it is?
I think we're good for the off-piste, but I'm always open to new trails.

I think 930 at pedal a bike away in cannon, set off at 10. Doomanic will correct me if I’m wrong

i could be up for this what time everyone meeting and were . it will be my first ride out with you all
Whilst I'm minded to 9AM start to get my revenge on the southerners I'm too lazy to get up that early myself so it'll be 10AM meet at Pedalabikeaway, 10:30 depart.
There should be plenty of parking this time of year.

GBU isn't on the ride plan. This ride is almost entirely off-piste trails.

There are some, but he'll need to be able to read the trail to get the most out of them. Think steep and natural rather than groomed.

There is a skills area by the car park where he can throw shapes to his heart's content after the main ride.

How is he with drops? GBU gets a bit gnar in the lower sections. I assume he's loving the tables at the top of the trail?

not sure really, he did all the drops on rim dinger as his first decent size drops, there are a few on vicious valley as well that werent a problem but the GBU ones look a bit more serious.

he hates steep natural stuff, so its about time he learned :D

Gutted! I would have loved this, but am way this weekend. Been riding up in the forest couple of times this week already and conditions are brilliant. Not muddy and leaves still crisp not slushy. I knew as soon as I put my mudguards on the rain would stop.
enjoy a great day out.

Can anyone planning on riding on Saturday as well give me a shout? Need to make a call on location.

Should be out with my boy after he play football. Going to pedals about 1230. He wants to try elephant man. Better take it slow as he’s only 7. If your about let me know. Might see if he wants to ride dowies instead cause it takes 5 mins ride from my house rather than load bike rack

Ive got to dive out of this one sorry; family chaos as usual 🤦‍♂️

Gutted, next one 👍

For anyone riding tomorrow, here's the meeting point. 10:30 meet and ride.

No. Park there. It’s a long verge.

Are you coming on Saturday as well then?
