I bought to to stop water and trail muck getting into the battery compartment of the Trance, as they are prone to collect sludge at the battery/motor interface, which ultimately leads to failed rides.
It works in spades, doing excatly as it should. I left the sock on for 2 weeks riding in nothing but mud and water almost everyday. Today I removed the sock to inspect the battery compartment, and it was clean as a whistle and dry too.
The product would be better if it had a zipper instead of velcro... it's harder to install than it should be.
This is about a normal bike soak lately.
Here is the battery compartment after two weeks of really wet riding.
I wont ride in wet without it??
