Hello everyone, I'm new here and come from Germany. I ordered the Amflow in April and the bike arrived on May 14th. On the first day I really enjoyed the bike and had a lot of fun with it, but on the second day I was unfortunately disappointed. I couldn't ride it any further because the following error message appeared on the display: Motor error 0x2701007a and battery not official 0x27030021. I wasn't worried at first and hoped that it was a minor fault that would be fixed quickly. A day later I took it to my authorized dealer who still hasn't been able to fix the problem. Unfortunately I doubt the workshop's skills because they never say exactly how they go about repairing it. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to repair it myself because of the warranty and contract and have to rely on the workshop. The current status is that they have received parts from Amflow Service to replace so that they can identify the defective component by replacing it completely. To date, no success. All components have been replaced except the motor, which will be replaced tomorrow in the hope that's where the fault is. Has anyone had the same problem before, has experience with it, and can help me? I repeat, unfortunately, I don't trust the workshop and am trying to continue enjoying my bike as quickly and as problem-free as possible.

best regards from Germany

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you have encountered.

Please note that the error messages you received are not necessarily caused by the motor alone; other components could also be responsible. Together with the dealer, we are using our experience to identify and prioritize the most likely faulty parts for replacement.

We are very sorry for any frustration or inconvenience this process may have caused you. Please rest assured that we are committed to improving our service and user experience. We will continue to work closely with the workshop to resolve your issue as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Thank you for your attention.

If my authorized dealer cannot rectify the fault, he would like to send the bike back. Will the bike be sent to China and do I have to be prepared for a very long wait or is there a central workshop in Germany?

I am not happy that the process is not faster. For a quick and customer-friendly process, the best way would be to get a replacement bike and not spend weeks looking for faults. And nobody can tell me how long it will take, the dealer says it may take months.

I have only used the bike for 60 km / 1 1/2 days, it is theoretically new.

@Amflow_Support

I really hope that you can have a small influence on this problem and achieve a quick solution.

I don't want to make the bike or the service look bad here, I'm trying to get my bike back as quickly as possible so that I can enjoy my trails without any problems.

If everything apart from the motor has already been replaced then it sounds like replacing the motor should resolve the issue. If you don't have any luck with that and Amflow want the bike sending back to China I would request a refund on the bike personally.

I am extremely interested to see how this plays out please keep us posted

This is the main reason for me not purchasing an Amflow. I need to know my bike can be fixed and working again within 7days. I get this service and better from my LBS " Crowthorne Cycles", I ride a Specialzed Levo Gen 3

We buy bikes as we ride regularly and they're expensive items. Unfortunately, since the birth of the eMTB, 99% of us can't fix them ourselves now due to the electronics/motors/batteries. Anything else on the bike needing attention and I wouldn't dream of taking it to a shop, I like to do everything myself!

I do hope you get this sorted soon. I feel for you.

Yes I agree its all about the service but it certainly helps to have reliable bikes. Unfortunately one of our riding group was without his gen 4 sworls for two weeks after his motor blew. To me that is unacceptable. I have a Forbidden due to arrive in September so I have been closely following all dji forums and YouTube videos. It's looking like there has been very few problems but it's still early days. I am however extremely excited and can't wait to see how the whole package performs

I keep a cheaper spare EMTB. Always have no matter the Motor brand.

Even sourcing a brake lever can take 2 weeks if you run upmarket brakes. So just ride the spare till parts arrive. I've even swapped the brakes over from the spare EMTB, till the lever arrived.

So just buy the best EMTB for your riding. And for me that's an Amflow. And my Merida will sub in, if I break anything. So far no issues. But there are more things than the motor that will have you waiting for parts.

I wonder if there’s a business model for a Tour De France style support vehicle following behind when out on a ride ready to switch out to an identical bike should any problems occur? 🤔😂

It’s the one thing that pains me with e-bikes, I can literally do any job I need to do on a bicycle (including building my first wheel recently) and have all the tools etc. But, an error message flicking up on the display signals the end of that bike riding for a while, as even if I had a spare motor on the shelf, or a battery or even a control unit, and even if I can fit them no problem I don’t have the proprietary software to pair any of it together.

Couple that with bike shops changing franchises like underwear at times, I’ve found myself having to approach a shop miles away that I’ve never dealt with before pleading with them to make a new component talk to the others. I’m tempted to go back to a self build e-bike next time so that I have the ability to be in control of the whole thing and get on with riding knowing I can fix anything should I need to.

DJI are innovative, I wonder if they’d think of introducing a ‘motor/battery by post’ setup with the necessary software setup/pairing done remotely via WiFi etc?

The Shimano Motors in Australia are very easy to access and reasonably prices. With the Mini-Max software, you can fully setup a new motor. It's why I run Shimano as a spare. Support and Software are fantastic in this part of the world. When you can get a new EP801 for about £550. When they break out of warranty. Just buy a new one on and fit it yourself.

That said. All failures that have stopped me whilst on the ride have been mechanical. Snapped derailleur. Broken brake levers. Bent wheel rims where it won't hold air.

I'm meticulous with my maintenance on the electronics and motors. I haven't had a failure in 4 years of running Shimano and DJI motors.

Sounds like the Shimano motor support where you are is better than here!

I haven’t had many problems since I got my first factory e-bike in 2019, a duff charger on my Focus replaced under warranty via post and latterly a TCU failure on my Levo SL that needed a trip to the bike shop.

It just irks me that so much isn’t DIY now, even if you can buy the parts in the first place.

We are a lot closer to Asia. Another reason I don't anticipate long waits for DJI components.

I pretty much buy everything on Aliexpress out of China. Including all the Shimano bits. It's always here in 8-10 days maximum. And it's really reliable, with great tracking.

Wow that is very worrying for any new Specialized Gen 4 owners! New S-Works motor already given up! I wonder what the issue was ????

Or even a Bosch powered Haibike! 😲
Selbst Schuld
Hallo, ich habe mir 2019 ein Haibike mit Flyon-Motor gekauft und es war eine einzige Katastrophe. Absoluter deutscher Schrott. In zwei Jahren Garantie mussten Motor, Elektrik und Akku ausgetauscht werden, manche sogar zweimal! Jetzt habe ich den vierten Kabelbaum. Ich habe ca. 18500 km drauf.

Translation:- Now I'm on my fourth wiring harness. I've done about 18,500 km on it.
Is that so bad for a 6 year old super powered EMTB? Rather better than a ride stopping failure after only 60km from new!
Also note I did say Bosch powered!;)

Motor stopped working after a pedal strike. They replaced the motor took 2 weeks though and no report on what failed

Hi Andreas,

We apologize for the late response.

The bike will not be sent back to China; we have a repair facility in Europe. However, we do not send whole bikes. We completely understand your frustration regarding the processing times with the dealership.

If you encounter any issues during the process with the authorized dealer, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can email your situation to us at [email protected], and we will promptly get in touch with the regional service manager.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

I will be a DJI owner as soon as my Forbidden arrives so I am very interested in knowing the outcome to such issues. Keep us posted please ChucG and OP
