EMTB Chain wear on average

One XX1 is currently at 2500kms on emtb still having 0.00mm wear.
It still amazes me that such a basic item like a chain can vary so much in terms of wear, or to put it another way it is clealy possible to make a chain that will last a very long time, so why wouldn't you? I well remember from my motorcycling youth having to adjust the primary chain on one of the bikes I owned every week and replace it every 3 months. On one occaision when seeking another replacement the LBS had none on the shelf but to help me out with the urget need (long journey planned and adjustment on the limit) they offered me a length of racing spec. chain of the same brand which was normally not available retail. Never needed to adjust it again for all the time and many miles till I sold the bike!

I checked Bullits chain wear today, it’s on 0,5% mark. Eagle GX everything, bike ridden 2900km and second GX chain. Replaced at 1600km. I’ll ride with this through winter and replace everything at spring., same all because I’m happy how everything has worked. It will be interesting to compare this to my Levo which has Eagle ASX with same GX cassette but with XX-chain.

X01 and Xtr chains are around £40 each from hopkinsons cycles.
The X01 is what I use and it works fine on a cheap slx cassette for a few k miles.
Buy, fit, forget 👍
do you run 10 or 11 or 12 speed?
