Electric Tricycles? Are there any that aren't total rubbish?

I have a friend recovering from significant surgery who has never ridden bicycles much and loves the idea of electric but also would like the stability of a trike. Are there any out there that are not far eastern imports clearly unsuitable for the purpose ie V or cantilever brakes on something weighing 30kg! I've faile using good old Google.

Off road capability not essential. Just something simple that isn't going to be dangerous or poor quality as they are not cheap.

There is a pretty cool recumbent one made by Icetrikes, I saw a guy on one out near me and it looked very well thought out

I would also recommend you take a look at Hase Bikes. We very nearly opted for their tandem system before buying a Santana. I'm pretty sure their e-trikes will not disappoint you.

Not dangerous, not poor quality, not cheap, no pedals, no V brakes, doesn’t weigh 30 kg & not from the east of anywhere except Melbourne. The gnarliest, most capable thing I’ve ever seen on 3 wheels. It’s a road registrable cargo carrier but I’d like to see a commuter version - way better than a mobility scooter.

Built by stealth, engineered with their neighbour who KNOWS how to push the boundaries of mechanics...what could possibly go wrong? Yup, I want one too...
