It's not a lot of climbing at all.
1000m climbing can be done in half that distance easily at Innerleithen
One battery will manage it easily.

You can fall off a lot over 30km, I've been told I'm planning try a few coaching sessions ahead of this.

That's awesome. I think I'll go. I emptied my battery for the first time a couple of days back. Emtb mode the whole ride. Similar climbing.
