• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Displayed speed and GPS speed is not the same. At the original wheel circumference, the displayed speed is still higher as the GPS speed for most Brands.

Changing the wheel circumference in the Flow app, does not change your assistance limit, only changing the correlation of the displayed speed to the GPS speed. The slider is only there to correct the displayed speed, so it's closer to the GPS speed.

Displayed speed and GPS speed correlation seems to be a percentage, with higher speed difference will be bigger.

Brands use different wheel circumference for the same wheel/tyre size, so one brand might be spot on with GPS vs Displayed speed, others are way off! This means, real GPS assistance limit is not the same for all brands and bikes!

We cannot watch the phone display, keep the bike at constant speed at the limiter to check the correlation: GPS modules in phones are slow (usually 1 hz) and the main problem lies in the way GPS works:

"True "instantaneous" speed is theoretical. GPS provides a "sampled" speed over a very small duration (e.g., 0.1s for 10 Hz), which acts as a practical substitute."

The easiest way to check your bike GPS to displayed speed correlation :

- first reset the wheel circumference in flow app back to the original value (if you adjusted it before)
- use an application like Strava, and record a longer ride with the FLOW app and Strava together
- better to do the ride in good GPS signal area
- check both recorded distance, in ideal case, they should match, if they don't you will see the percentage difference between them, which will directly correlate to the GPS speed and displayed speed missmatch

Thanks to Ebike doctor I got a brand new bike that can go 45 km/h !. I am really happy about it since there is no chance of getting errors because Flow app sets the maximum speed .I have Bosch Gen 4 motor... Thank you Ebike Doc. ! 😁🙏🙏

More details about the 45?
Did someone finally unlock the option to enable 45 speed on 25 engines?
Or did you just buy a 45 speed bike? (Bosch does offer versions with 45 speed from the factory)

No it was a 25km bike bought in Germany. Now it's 45km bike thanks to @EbikeDoctor
Bosch CX motor gen 4

This is a bit overwhelming for newcomers/ newbies to the forums. 🤔 Why would @EbikeDoctor be a scammer, as Rudie is stating? I am/ was considering his assistance/ service…

Absolutely NOT !
I got my bike UPGRADED to Class 3 From Class 1. (25 to 45km) The Flow app adjusts the speed, so no chance of getting errors...

Has anybody on the forum -other than Sharkimano- had derestricting/ other remote services done by Ebike Doctor?
If so, could you please share your experiences?

Is this the same Rudie/Rudi/Rudy who also offered Bosch de-restriction services?
It looks like it is, given that the other thread (https://www.emtbforums.com/threads/...ystem-32km-h-35-euro.44685/page-9#post-675948) which was started by the original Rudie/Rudi/Rudy has changed its tittle a couple of times, one quite recently and as far as I know that can only be done by the originator!
I have to say though that Rudie's recent posts do seem weird, earlier the doom message that was never explained or any detail given and now the accusation against the e-doctor. From memory it was someone different entirely who was deleted after a campaign of trying to discredit both Rudie and the e-doctor and even claimed they were same person!😖

@EbikeDoctor
is this personally modified firmware?
New unchanged firmware from bosch?
or just tweaked settings from inside the bosch service tool?

I'm about to get a CX Gen 5 for the first time, replacing a chipped Yamaha.
I'd like full assistance to around 20-21mph (32-33kmh), rather than a sudden cut off just before.
I'd ideally like the trip/mileage on the bike to remain accurate, even if the current speed is halved (if needed).

I feel that if the 32 US limit is a smidge too restricted for me, the 64kmh might be safest? (does that effect the trip mileage?)

Thanks in advance

I requested to delete my old account from the forum, and the mods did it.

This new account is EbikeDoctor account, not a personal one.

I'm not sure why Rudie telling people I'm a scammer, we never scammed anyone. Also customers only have to pay after the job is done.

45km option does not work on all motor type yet, that's why we don't advertise it.

All of the available speed options can be updated with the latest software available right now, and the speed stay the same. We do not know what will happen with the new software, when it's released, we are gonna check it at the same day, and inform everyone. We cleary state in our manual, auto update should be disabled, and only update the bike , if you checked the site and we state is safe to do so!

Can Bosch find out you modified the parameters? Wondering how this fairs with warranty?

Thanks for your response.
So some Bosch Motors support the new 45 but not all? (yet?)

i'm getting a cube reaction hybrid pro 2026 - Performance Line CX (BDU384Y)

Can you further explain "NEW 33km/h speed option, max assistance till 33km/h displayed speed!"
Is the different than just changing the region to US?

This is our stand on the warranty, its applies to every configuration change! Every customer get this, and has to accept if he want to proceed with the changes!

I just registered on this forum today, and for one reason: I wanted to get my e-bike up to 45 km/h. They really took a lot of time with me—at first my internet connection was bad, the cable to my laptop wasn’t plugged in, and so on. They never lost their patience and calmly explained to me, step by step, what I needed to do.
Unfortunately, my motor wasn’t compatible with the 45 km/h software, so we decided on the 34 km/h version. I went on a 60-minute ride right after that, and there have been absolutely no complications so far. He is very friendly and patient, and the price is more than fair.
Yeah, I know it sounds a bit odd coming from someone who’s only been registered on this forum for a few hours, but that’s just my experience. I’m from the Germany/Switzerland region, and if you have any doubts, feel free to ask me anything (preferably in German ;) because my English is just so-so).

Thought I'd chip in and add my experience too.

Went smoothly, good set of instructions to get you ready for the change, only took 5 mins despite my poor internet and responsive over WhatsApp.

Got the limit changed to 33kph on my Orbea Wild, no issues so far.

Can vouch for him being legit unless my bike decides to turn its self on and ride its self to somewhere in Europe during the night!

  • Bikes under warranty
    • We can set back the bike to original state, but we cannot guarantee this will preserve your warranty
    • Warranty cases are rare, Bosch are known for honoring warranty in clear cases, but you have to be aware you might loose your warranty when tuning the bike, as you do the same with external speed boxes.
    • Only proceed with the speed limit change, if you accept these Risks!
Hi @EbikeDoctor Can you send me your contact details, I would like to try your services ....

You not worried about the warranty? I also have a Wild (brand new).

Just had mine changed to 33kph. No problems at all, took a few minutes with the laptop connected, then had to forget and re pair the bike after it was done, all working perfectly. The app still shows correct bike manufacturer and speed.

For me no, as my 2 year motor warranty runs out next month anyway.

He can change it back to original speed if needed for warranty AFAIK.

Mines only 6 months old. So best not to mess about with things like this until I’m in your position and out of warranty

Here’s my story. I have a work laptop, iPhone and iPad. No way I’m using my work laptop, so my mom has an old laptop that I need to borrow to do this upgrade. I need to make an appointment to get this done.

Before I knew about Ebike doctor, I used Rudy through WhatsApp to change wheel dia. to 1/2. Rudy wasn’t the easiest to get ahold of and for our appointment he was 1/2hr late. He was polite on the phone and got the job done pretty fast. My Yeti LTE is working flawlessly. My brother has the new Norco Range and I gave him the info for Rudy. Took Rudy a few days to respond to him and they agreed to a date and time to get this done. Rudy ghosted him on that day.

I saw a thread on Ebike doctor, gave my brother Ebike doctor’s WhatsApp contact. Ebike doctor responded right away, made an appointment with him. Ebike doctor was on time and changed the wheel speed dia. to 1/2 with no issues. The Norco Range is working great!

I sold a friend my used 2024 Crestline with a Speedfun chip in it. Was working great until wires broke on it and shut the bike down. I removed the Speedfun chip and plugged everything back in, just like that the bike came to life. I made an appointment with Ebike doctor, fast and easy to contact. He was right on time, changed the wheel speed dia to 1/2 and the Crestline works perfectly.

Summary: Ebike doctor is the real deal, did 3 bikes for me and all working properly👍🏼

My bike done 1 month ago. I have ridden hundreds of kilometers, no errors, no issues, it works like it should work from day one when purchasing from the shop. Earlier I used bikespeed chip which was given speed sensor error time to time.

I have a 2025 pivot shuttle lt with a gen 4 cx-race motor which a chap in Poland changed to US firmware and 32km last year. After all the scare mongering by Rudie and the dire title change on his thread and, my bike showing up as a cube in the Flow app (which I had deleted because of said scare mongering/my paranoia). I decided to reach out to Ebike Doctor today, well only a couple of hours ago really, and had a good conversation with him. He confirmed that the 45km wasn't available for the race motor/variant but, 33kmh was.

Switched the conversation to WhatsApp and he guided me through everything I needed to do and check, and having done that we quickly proceeded with the update, via a Mac, and it took may 10 mins and everything looks great in the Flow App and I am very impressed and super happy. He didn't ask for payment until the work was done and I was happy.

I highly recommend him!
