E-Sommet bearing numbers and torque values (incl headset bearing info and rear thru axle spec)

Thanks Gary, that’s what I thought. Just thought I’d raise this as someone buying just that bearing press will be very annoyed when they come to remove the bearings and find that they can’t.

I bought a slide hammer kit last year but found the hammer a bit crude
I ended up using it without the hammer and tapping the bearings out from the opposite side using the spreaders from the kit.
Still no press tho.

Cool the jets.
Just found this on kinetics site.....
Says 16 bearings tho.
Any ideas where the extra 2 come from?
These are the bearings I ordered, haven't unpacked or fitted them yet though

I want to keep mine going for another year or two if I can, should have 18 months warranty on the motor and going to get a 630wh battery for it

What do we think the wear on the aluminium pivot hardwear will be like, I'm guessing it's going to develop play at some point? Thinking maybe I should get spares while available

This is what I did - I have got full replacement hardware from CRC, including motor mounting bolts, so going to get that all swapped out when I get bearings done

I am waiting till late April before doing the swaps as I want to get the worst of the wet weather out of the way, also pretty much replacing full drivetrain, expect for mech which I replaced just before xmas, so basically a full teardown and rebuild of the bike.

I see the ones on sale at CRC are listed as silver although photos show black, what turned up?

Black, though labeled up silver - I am one set of bolts short though, you need two of these I believe, one for seat stay and one for chain stay pivot:

Prob not but I figured get everything then at least I am covered.

Who knows how long they’re I’ll keep stuff in production

That reminds me to order shock bolts etc
There's a choice of shock bushing 20 or 22mm
Any ideas?
Bikes not handy.

Shock bushing for the lower eyelet?

Rockshox use 1/2" same as Fox

Well parcel arrived from kinetic and as stated 16 bearings in the kit.
6901 x4, I questioned this but they said they never had any complaints.
Any ideas where the extra 6901's go?

I've just finished changing the frame bearings... and I have two new bearings left over. Do kinetic sometimes send kits out with spares by mistake?

Edit: the barber posted the exact same question 😀

I just counted the bearings I removed & there's 14.

I wonder if the VRX with the fox shock has a different v-link design?

2018 defo has 14, that is what is included in the kit from MB. Do we think the quality of the bearings in the Kinetic kit (Abec 3 Max) is worth over twice the price of the one from MB? I hate changing bearings so if they last twice as long defo worth it in my book

It's the first time I've ever changed the frame bearings on a bike, so I can't comment on quality.... all I know is that after almost 3 years the originals were absolutely fooked. No wonder it felt like my rear wheel was flexing & the tyre was under inflated.
