E Rallon?

So with the rise being pretty popular - have their been any rumours of orbea extending the RS concept used in the Rise and doing an E Rallon with the same motor and battery as used in the rise.

Having had a go on a rise and found it pretty good, just a bit too much trail bike, I reckon an e rallon would be even better.

Not sure whether it would replace the wild fs ,or end up just sitting along side it in the range.

The Rallon RS has arrived. 40nm, tiny battery, would work for me if I didn't just buy a Revel Rerun frame.
 
Nice to see a company bucking the trend for ever increasing power. I ride 35Nm KSL and LSL and I like the more natural way they pedal. I don’t mind having to make more effort. I hope more makes will follow Orbea in offering a light weight package in their line up and not just follow the Avinox trend.
 
Another long travel, self shuttle rig with a tiny motor like the Kenevo SL. I really don't get it. Entirely pointless unless you happen to be very, very light. Even my most Smurf-physiqued riding buddies switched from SL to full power rigs years ago.

Head scratcher.
 
Does anyone see how the motor is attached to the frame? It looks absolutely stealthy, which is actually concerning — I’m not sure it would stay in place.

Surprisingly battery isn't removable which was a cool feature of TQ bikes.

Not trying to be a d*ck but honestly I just don't get it.

Are you self shuttling? You could literally make exactly the same effort and stack 2x more laps on a full powered rig. If you're light you could opt for a 600wh battery instead of 800wh to save a little weight.

Owned a KSL for a very short time. Basically gave me 3-4 x 1,000' laps local instead of the usual 2-3 laps on the muscle powered Enduro. On a full power rig I can do 6 laps. The KSL juice was literally not worth the squeeze. And the penalty was crap dropper insertion - the seat was halfway up my ass on the way down lol.

The added 4-6lbs to go to a full power bike is a small price to pay for twice the laps.
 
Does everyone want or need the same thing? Although this bike doesn't suit my needs at all, I'm glad that they are offering something to those that might find a use for it.

I still ride a Levo Gen 3, but my wife doesn't ride as far, as often or as much elevation and she loves the Levo SL. I'll replace the Gen 3 with something else in a year or so. And not the Specialized currently offered.

That's your opinion, but many people are looking for something like this as they get older. It helps just enough to make riding easier, it's playful and fun to ride on trails.

Not everyone wants to ride a two-wheeled tank. And if friends ride them, I'll switch riding buddies or enjoy it alone.
Or buying a real moto.

During Covid, options were very limited & I ended up on an EP8 equipped alloy tank at 56lbs (25.4kg), moved on to a second hand Heckler 8 MX that was 12 lbs lighter, just got a Revel Relay with 170mm front and 165mm rear travel with Bosch SX (400wh) battery. This one is 45lbs (20.4kg). Bikes feels amazing & I can hop logs/ditches without hurting my beat up elbows and shoulders. I also enjoy challenging climbs and exercise.
 
I have both full power reign e+ and rise h30. The rise at 10 lbs less is more like my mtb. The full power is fun as all get out on enduro style trails and the rise is fun on singletrack trail rides. I like the ability of the rise to tune down power if I want and with 540 wh battery I could get 5K if I wanted to.

At 40 lbs the e rallon is light but not sure about the 40 nm max and the 290 wh battery as I am 190 ish while riding.

I guess I assumed that a 170 bike was a self shuttle rig for DH, in which case the tiny motor/battery makes no sense (which is exactly the conclusion that pink bike reached today).

I did not consider the idea that it could just be an easier, plusher ride for someone who's getting older and wants a more comfortable experience going up and down.

You lost the plot talking about ditching your friends on full powered bikes, getting a moto, etc.

Just looked at the Pinkbike review. I'm out.
I am SL Curious, but i personally would like full power, small-ish battery for those after work play sessions. I love the look of the Rallon, and I love the integration. The price tag gives me a little twitch though, Ooosh.
 
It's a really interesting bike, but properly niche. The issue with very low power bikes is they only really work if you're riding with other people on the same (or going solo) and there aren't really any other bikes in this category.
 
You are right in that there should have been a TQ HPR60 motor like Trek have.
There would be more options for riding.

Or if you're riding with paupers (see analogue riders) and just want to be a tad faster than them / keep up with them.
 
As a fan of SL bikes and peddling, I'm just not sure this brings enough to the table.

I bought a Fuel Exe that now weights in at just over 18kgs with pedals. Standard 150 140 suspension can cope with most and tweaks to 160 150 is easy.

or @Rob Rides EMTB has built a 19kg enduro rig Trek Fuel EXe RR, 170mm Enduro Edition

I could do that with mine, by a spare battery and RE and still trouser 5k on Orbea list price. Not a chance will this sell but kudos to Orbea for not following the herd
 
My first reaction was confusion and that I'd buy the bike immediately with an HPR60. The latter is still true but listening to the Path Podcast about the bike was interesting. Sounds like they know it's a niche bike (mentioned limited quantities), but represents an opportunity to do something no one else was doing while pushing electrical integrations forward. Won't be buying one but the concept started to make sense. Noticed it listed with regular bikes, not ebikes, on Orbea site.
