I live in a place with very little elevation but plenty of acreage and heavy equipment. I'm currently on a canyon spectral that I use on my own trails with jumps/berms/drops to stay in shape and then travel 2-4 hours for actual mountain biking. I'm considering an emtb to use at home to help up the fun factor and keep me going as I could usually use another 5mph to make things really fun.

Does anyone have any input on whether or not a low power or full power emtb could be fun on basically flatland with lots of features? I do realize it's far from the typical use just trying to stay on the bike more consistently and not just when I have a trip coming up.

Yeah, I'd think a lightweight eMTB would be great for this. The Specialized Turbo Levo SL or Heckler SL are the first that come to mind.

Would anyone be able to roughly quantify how much the assist may help from a lightweight emtb? I am leaning that route, just not sure if it will be enough. 30% increase sound about right?

I have been looking at the original levo sl. I understand the the model is likely perfect but not sure I want to drop that kind of cash on this experiment.

I do originally come from dirt bikes a while back so also weighing going for the full power

A “lightweight” ebike could be like 10-15% more fun…
A fulfat dersestricted (from 25 to 32km/h) ebike will be 28% more fun.
I have a spectralon and used stunlock, its easy and reversable.

Most lightweight ebikes will put out 2+ times the effort that you put in at max power.

Power isn't a problem for my mate on his Levo SL here in Suffolk but the 30x11 top gear is!

I think it'll take a 34...

If you go full power you will loose pop and maneuverability. Jumps will be more dead sailor with less ability to pop and make the distance if you are above motor cut out. Below motor cut out you will have more power to wang into jumps.

Full power is a blast in the single track smashing at full pace. If its stop start style stuff then the power makes it mucho fun.
But you can tap out on the motor cut out very quickly on flat land.

Sl will have less grunt and be more like a mildly assisted mtb. But it will retain characteristics of jumping and be a lot more playful and more similar to your mtb. But it would have the raw grunt and increased fun of the full power when wanging through the singletrack.
