Levo SL Gen 1 Do you use a Battery extender

just wonder if many of the Levo sl owners used battery extenders ?

I am planning to get one but at the moment specialised seems to have low to no stock and finding the 160 mm cable is proving even harder

Over the Spring/Summer/Fall I used one to supplement the main battery on the long 35-40 mile and/or 3000-5000 ft of elevation rides.

Now that the big areas are snowed in (Albuquerque, NM), and riding the foothills of the mountains, most rides are 12-30 miles long.
For this winter, removed the main battery and just using the range extender.
These trails are mostly flowy, loose over hard single track. Doing a 30 mile loop will have at the most 3800 ft of climbing.

I have two, so stuff one in my pack. I also installed a lighter wheelset (Bontrager line pro 30's. with 2.3 tires) which is about 270 grams lighter than my Rovals w/ 2.6 tires. Can get some really good range from the range extender with this lighter SL setup.

36.91#/16.74 kg

last week, did 25 miles, 2800 ft of climbing w/ one range extender. 20% battery life left.
Today, 29 miles, 3700ft climbing. Swapped out the range extender halfway through even though I had 40% battery left just cause. second battery had 50% left at the end of a ride. On the second half of the ride, was more liberal w/ using the Trail setting because of the fresh battery. Could have done the ride with one range extender, but would have been forced to use primarily Eco to conserve the battery life.

Using modified power, mostly Eco 25/50 with some Trail mixed in 40/60
Riding with strong riders on XC bikes.

it's good to have. with it i can go the same distance as my friends on FF 700wh bikes. Of course i'm on turbo the whole time so i am not far behind on the climbs

Got my extender a month ago to be able to keep up with my two friends on FF Levos and to not worry about dying on the trail if we went further out. I pretty much keep it on the bike all the time now since I don't need that much water since switching to eMTB. I've also set my tire and suspension PSI/settings to accommodate for the extra weight so I don't want to take out the battery and throw off the balance of the bike lol.
