I noticed this site is selling the Amflow now in the US.
Amflow USA
While this certainly looks more legit than other importers, is it likely just as sketch in regards to warranty and support?
Hey Bud,
At the end of the day, if and until Amflow sells in the US, you can only buy it in a country that is selling it, then ship thru a 3rd party. Find a 3rd party that is legit, ... I would guess most of them are, and you can get one. (That's what I did). that's what all those sites are, 3rd party importers, 3rd parties in most parts of the World, of course, can legally import whatever they want, if you will pay for it. Which worked out great, for me...I got one here .
However, There is no warranty, if you do this in the US. Specifically, Amflow will tell you , "there is no global warranty", as they have explained to me. However, in my experience so far, they have been very responsive and proactive for offering support, regardless of the fact that I am in the USA, and I have "no warranty."
Its a huge risk at the moment, if you (and I) need parts... could only be 1 of 3, the battery, the motor, or the display/ controllers. And its a huge risk, since its new to the market... could be junk, at the end of the day. I happen to be lucky being overseas a lot for work, so I can get parts ..but for most here in the US, shipping parts via a 3rd party, will probably be a pain in the ass, and take a long time.
IN short, I personally wouldn't buy one here, unless you are willing to lose the $, you paid for it, at this time. But....If you are willing to do so, it will put the biggest smile on your face.
For me, this bike has been so freaking awesome and FUN, it has been worth every penny of risk I took, I assumed a complete loss of my $, when I bought it here. So far, I am beyond happy.
I figure worst case....Probably eventually and prematurely, it will fail, the way I ride it anyway...but will be fun killing it, or trying to do so, while having a Blast. Money well spent (for me). Better than Beer?.....well, all most, ...I don't know, Amflow has Beer Beat at the moment, for me.
