The excitement builds again. Anyone want to critique my fantasy team? Amaury for money in the bank, Charlie because I reckon the track suits him & I need the money for the girls! Gracey because she's fierce & I can't afford Vali & Hattie because 🇬🇧

I also heard on a podcast that Dak is in Europe and planning to race Leogang. He said he's nowhere near 100% but it would help to get back in the routine.

Although I would love to see Gwin back up to his old form and full speed, I just don’t think it’s going to happen. I hope I’m wrong though. Same with Dak, it’s too soon for him. Hopefully he’ll be back up to speed soon though. Also, I play Pinkbike and VitalMTB fantasy leagues. But I like Vitals better because the players are more affordable. Pinkbike just lowered their prices, but they’re still too much. Vital also lets you pick as many riders as you can afford from each class including juniors, but you must pick at least 1 rider from each class. Where as Pinkbike you must pick 4 males and 2 females from the elite class, but not any juniors.

Last race I fell for the timed training trap and lost about 45 points, not this time!

Ive taken the same woman haha. Amuary, Benoit, Reece & Tuhoto.

Its Kings birthday here on Monday so a day off and the races are 8:15pm Woman's and 9:10pm Men's finals on Sunday night. Perfect!
 
Mens Q1 ongoing. Question on my mind - what the hell is up with Laurie Greenland? He's going backwards at a rate of knots.
 
Whether he's 100% healthy and fit or not , the level is so high now that I feel he's been left behind. Love his style and I'd love to see him return to form as much as anyone , but even if you're 5 second off the pace these days , you're not making Q2!

I knew he had Covid quite bad. Looked him up & it seems he's had problems with glandular fever too. Couple of years ago, he was knocking on the door - no one rides for Santa Cruz if they don't have that talent, so it's a pity for the guy.
 
Watching Q2 now , I've gotta say , the drone shot chasing the riders at the top is fantastic! It's a shame a couple of the other cameramen seem to have eaten some special mushrooms they found in the forest.
It's getting better .....slowly. :)
 
Do we know if Christian Hauser got a re-run? I've never seen a rider catch another on track before & they didn't say on the broadcast.
 
I'd understood the preceding rider had crashed & they do run multiple riders on course simultaneously. Looked to me more like bad luck but the guy was cruising down & should have moved over.

still think the coverage is pants , especially if you are paying for it , random shots of scenery , disjointed commentary and missing riders,runs, cut off midway
better to go with the riders own vlogs and pinkibike , vital etc
format is good though , no more protected status , and some big names not in the main race so its mixing it up , i feel for Ronan's back wheel :)
 
Gonna dunk on the comms again. Ric McLaughlin is so perfunctory. Here's a rider on <this team> at <this venue>, riding like <this cliché>.

Crying over spilt milk here but I found myself again thinking Warner would have told you what school they went to, their last five results & whether or not they won the fight they got into whilst drunk at Bielsko-Biala last week, all before the first corner.
 
At least when the Canadians win the crowd doesn't storm the paddock! Although they had the obligatory smoke bombs going off and at the ready. Best way I've found anymore is to get as much off YT as presented and thankfully most of that is sans talking heads. But that is how I watch all cycling events anymore it seems. There were some epic crashes and thankfully no one was hurt, too bad anyway!
 
When I watched Jackson's preview, I thought it was fast and going to be a killer, then I watched Q2 and saw all the crashes. Some crazy crashes and some performances are making for an exciting season.
Felt sorry for Hattie again for not completing a full race run.
I shouted at the telly on more than one occasion during the race, both at the riding and correcting the commentators for wrong information or what they missed right in front of them.

Good idea. I'm bossing it currently from 10,671st. Can't let that kind of advantage slip through my fingers.

Edit: I've gone skint with the 2024 podium big guns & so added a couple of cheap unlikelys. Can only see myself top of the league, lauded by the entire racing scene by Sunday evening.

Hah I'm sitting in the 3,000 area so not too bad, still gutted I changed my first round team as I would have had another 40 odd points and been a lot higher.

Ronan is due some luck IMO
 
Really good side by side here, showing how Gracey went from last at the first split to top of the box, reeling in Vali Hol all the way through the woods.

Go Gracie , well deserved and its' been coming for her , progression all the way , Go Norco , hopefully Danny H can have a good result also soon
