Hi all, my Shimano charger has just failed. While on holiday ?
It's an ec-e6000 used on a down tube mounted e8010 504kwh battery.
It basically just "popped" on plugging it in at campsite. The 3a fuse went. So replaced that and same happened again. Took it apart and no obvious exploded electronics inside (I work in elec manufacturing). I suspect internal short on a coil as it used to get v hot when charging.
typically it's just out of 2yr warranty
should I replace with same model charger? Or is the ec-e8004 better?
looks like naff all chance of getting one where I am. Bodmin, Cornwall UK. So im mentally preparing to go battery less this week ?
