Hi all,

I am going to convert to MT7 brakes. Can I use the shimano brakelines wich are already installed?
So just calipers and brake master swap.

Thanx Ron

I swapped mine out for the magura hose. They both use mineral oil, it’s just the inside diameter of the hose I wasn’t sure about. im sure it’ll work fine, as people have converted all sorts of Frankenstein brakes using magura and shimano.

As above, it will work but as the hoses are smaller in diameter the amount of fluid / hydraulic pressure will be lower. (noticeable, i doubt it)

Mine was on a levo, so I used a little connector thing a majig to screw into the hose and used the old one to pull it through. Very easy. if you use the existing hose, you’ll need the inserts and olives changed to match the magura.

I just switched out to Magura MT5 calipers last month. You want to use the Magura brake line and barb and use a Shimano olive. I’ve had zero issues. Love the added power.
I have XTR levers.
