Eh? All doubles have a take off and a landing.

talking of which. a more experienced rider could actually have cleared that double smoothly at the same speed (or slower) Rob hit it at. Rob doesn't pump the tranny (yes. intentional wording) and instead hauls on his bars. but because he didn't pump and hasn't move his body weight rearwards to unweight the front wheel the bike doesn't actually lift.
You do see clipped in riders try to lift the bike AFTER they've left the ground all the time. it's not only pointless. it looks awful.
This is not actually a fault of clipless pedals but a fault with the rider. Get back on flats and learn to bunnyhop high and manual for at least 10 meters consistently. THEN go back to clips and you'll have a huge confidence boost and an advantage over the majority of clipped in riders. (the majority of mtb riders not being particularly skilled)

When the crash is inevitable, the instinct of denying it and just trying to stop its consequences only makes more damage. Got to let go and hit the ground...
Expensive gloves first, just a tad before tearing the elbows of the jersey and scratching the fancy plastics, to then keep rolling and slide a while over the side of the shorts praying not to reach the flesh. When one gets really good on rolling of a crash, will end with a glorious slide over the knee protectors, arms raised in skateboarding style.

@Rob Rides EMTB Glad your OK Rob. Interestingly, Ben Cathro just posted a video about suffering a concussion after a tumble. See During the video it's stated that some sort of remedial therapy should be followed after such an injury, rather than just wait until all the symptoms go away naturally and do nothing else. I believe his follow-on videos are going to provide more details about this "therapy". It's the first time I've heard of such a thing but thought you might be interested as it's relevant to you right now. When my son suffered a similar injury he was discharged from A&E following assessment for serious injury and given a info leaflet that basically said take it easy. Is this now old fashioned thinking?

Just had similar fall about as month ago, stuffed up a small jump, not concussed but did a grade 2 AC shoulder ligament. Two more weeks of rehab and should be good to ride. Being over 60 takes longer to heal. Thinking body armour but Physio said it wouldn't have mattered in this case. Perhaps a Sumo suit might work.

Used by Reece Wilson after his off the other day ..
