Coil or air shock first?

Just picked up a new bike and I’m about to take it out on its first ride Monday. The bike comes with a super deluxe ultimate air shock but I also snagged the same shock in a coil version. I’ve been on air shocks for a long time, so coil will be very new. The plan is to test them both, but which one should I start with?

Would start with air as it’s easier to set up. With a coil need to calculate the correct spring for sag that you want might not have the correct spring from the off

I run coils on everything so the coil would get my vote. Just make sure you get it custom tuned, I’ve not really got along with any coil out of the box.
