I understand that the context in which Canyon is working is very challenging. However, considering the recent Bosch CX Gen 5 motor, along with the new display integrated into the frame and the increased power, it seems almost obvious that Canyon should release an updated version of its STRIVE ON electric enduro bike.

Has anyone read any rumors about it?
When will the new 2026 STRIVE:ON be released?
Can we guess any specific update?

Should we care? Just asking. 😀
It probably only matters to me… 😅 hahaha.
But if someone were looking for a carbon enduro bike, built for tough descents and uphill power stages, with 170mm of front travel and a battery of 800 Wh or more… the choices are very limited.

They should do it this season asap, if they don't want to lose sale on emtbs. IMO Canyon situation in this category is not that good.. Couple bullet points from my observations:

- They still do not solve "battery gate" problem (Spectral:ON & Torque:ON) which will definitely discourage a certain group of customers.. Owners of these models still waiting for new batteries which should be delivered in march as Canyon first stated.. These models are not available for sale from November 2024, so no profit on these bikes from couple of months now..

- Current Srtive:ON models (underdog and cfr) are available in full size range, which rarely happened in the past, so we can assume it does not selling well which is not surprising as it is on Bosch cx gen4. Imo every conscious emtb cyclist will prefer to add some money and buy something with newer motor like new Bosch cx gen 5.

- Spectral:ONfly with TQ motor, which was released in September last year, imo also do not sell well. This bike is available in every size and it is on permanent sale, each model on averge is 1k EUR less than release price. Bike looks nice but now this TQ system looks outdated. Even in september when they launched this model, opinions in media wasn't good for TQ as it has low support power and has higher battery consumption than Bosch SX or Fazua Ride 60.

- Month ago Canyon released new, 'budget' version of Neuron:ON AL with bosch gen5 motor, but this model is not meant to compete with bikes which Strive:ON does. Also bike is heavy and has headset cable routing, at least it has removable battery.

- Few weeks ago they removed the Neuron:ON CF (carbon model on bosch gen4) from the website. Now there is Neuron:ON AL and Neuron:ONfly. So it looks like they could show new Neuron:ON CF on bosch gen5 sooner than Strive:ON with bosch gen5? Or maybe they will ditch carbon Neuron:ON completely?

Canyon should act quickly, emtb trends changes so fast that you have to make smart decisions. Current hottest trend is dji so they could gain some media attraction if they show inexpensive ebike on this motor. Currently canyon ebike lineup is build on 4 different motor system: bosch (sx, cx gen4, cx gen5), shimano (ep600 & ep801), fazua (ride 60) and tq (hpr 50).. I think they should limit it to one or two motor producers, e.g. bosch and dji (or fazua if they don't wan to make deals with chinese brand :p ). They should make emtb frames with standard cable ports (headset routing is obsolete these days) and try to design frames with easy battery removal.

If they did a Spectral with the DJI system, with a small as possible downtube like the ONFly it would sell like absolute hot cakes.
