Brose controller start up

My brose controller will not start up. If I take out the battery and refit it it then fires up. However if I turn it off and then straight back on again no problems but if I turn off and leave off for ten minutes it will not turn on again untill I refit the battery.
All seams strange to me but it was fine before.

You try replacing the TCU battery

Haven't found a single mention of the little TCU battery anywhere on the internet - I assume it lasts nearly forever, but what if it doesn't ? Is there any chance that if it is dead, it causes the "I have to pull the battery connector out and then plug it back in again to get the bike to switch...

He's on an ST900 Decathlon bike (though hasn't mentioned it as a helpful pointer ):

But I think he means e-st900 , or it wouldn't have a motor.

E st 900. Cannot see where you would put a battery in the controller.
