Just broke my first motor belt today!!
Bike is a comp 2022, 3 months old with 1265kms
I am disillusioned and so frustated !!!
It is probably the best bike i have riden so far, motor and géo are very very good!!
But not enough reliable, i will wait the 2023 and probably be back to a bosch motor.
I have no more words as i am very frustated......... i was in love with this bike but i lost confiance on it

That brose motor is getting a bit long in the tooth now, hopefully they will do a complete remodel soon, rather than keep patching up the old one.

I thought that the latest belts were not supposed to break until they have done a significant distance. Specialized recommend changing at 15,000k!. I've done over 3000k on my second motor. I had Pete at PLB to a service on it and he did not replace the belt as he said it was in good condition. When under strain (steep hill in turbo) the motor makes a slight rattling noise. I am wondering if this is the belt stretching/wearing and knocking against something. I've now got all the tools (one to remove spider and special torque tool for belt tension) to replace the belt when it goes. It looks as if they are reasonably easy to order and there are various videos showing how to change the belt. If one has a reasonable amount of mechanical experience it does not look like too bad a job. Bearing replacement is another matter and this is when we need specialist help. Fortunately this is available with a Brose motor. Yes it's a pain that the belt is an item that needs replacing (like a cam belt in a car) but at least this is what makes the motor probably the quietest one out there.

I am not agree withyou for changing the belt myself unless if the warranty is over.
On a 3 mounth old bike with 1200kms it is unthinkable!!

I broke my motor (actually is just became extremely loud, but never actually stopped working) a couple months ago, after about one month of riding. It was replaced very quickly though, didn't even miss a single ride. Hoping the second one lasts a lot longer...
