My Moustache hardtail (bought in February) comes packaged with a 500 Wh Bosch Powertube. The dealer at the time said the battery is configured with spacers, so I could easily upgrade to a 625 Wh. So this week I decided to bite the bullet and order a 625 tube, obviously taking careful note of the horizontal vs vertical configuration. The tube arrived today, so I gleefully went to install on my bike, only to realise it doesn't fit. When I look at the business end, the internal connector is configured differently as you see in the image; my 500 is on the bottom, the new 625 on top. What gives with the difference? I just spent CHF 633 on the new tube, but there is a return option (I hope). What do I need to look out for to order the correct battery for my bike? It has the Bosch Smart system, does that make a difference?

There's different electronics in the two system its a sure fire way of stopping cross compatibility issues (y)
OK, so I've done a bit of further investigation, the battery I ordered was the PowerTube 625 BBP291, whereas the Smart equivalent would be BBP3761. Is that right and what I should be looking out for when I order?

I do not know about the batteries but... On the Bike Discount page that I looked up the part number BBP3761 it appears to be the same incorrect battery that you have already . From what I can see the incorrect one is the Vertical Non Smart

The picture that you posted showing your battery on the bottom was hard to see so I lightened up the resolution and it does not look like the one pictured for the part number you are considering.

That's interesting because I looked up BBP3761 and this came up: Bosch PowerTube 625 Wh vertical BBP3761 smart, 736.00 CHF. This does appear to have the the correct pin configuration.
Yet another search results in this: PowerTube 625 Akku (BBP3761) VERTIKAL - Das smarte System, which doesn't have the Smart configuration. I'm very confused.

I am interested in learning more about the Bosch batteries as I will be needing to buy one soon. I will be doing my riding in central Europe and live in Hawaii so I need to find a way to transport the bike back and forth. It will require buying another batter (800 power tube) for a Cube One77. I am assuming a 2025 800 Wh battery will be a Bosch product and not a Cube.

That is good to know that Bobs Leisure is on top of the batteries. I saw them as an option to order a Bosch battery and it is good to hear that they have correct batteries.
