Bosch powermore 250 + Cube Hybrid Stereo 140

It can only be done by a dealer, though as I understand it does not have to be a Cube dealer. The dealer needs to connect your bike to their Bosch Diagnostic program then select an option to raise a request for a new configuration via Bosch to the bike's manufacturer which, if they approve, will be sent or can be downloaded (not sure which, never got that far) and must be installed by the dealer. Apparently it can take several days before the new configuration is available. You will need to find a dealer with a good knowledge of the Bosch software and who is interested in doing the job, I have been looking for one for nearly a year now but no luck yet, plenty of did you buy the bike here, no idea and even "What's a PowerMore? Good luck if you go that way, I'm beginning to despair:cry:
Oh boy I can see this being a big mess.

I will go back to the dealer where I bought my bike, only trick I'm going to try is changing the charge port to this beforehand.

Soooooooo after tons of back and forth. Seeing more and more people running these, here and on YouTube I pulled the trigger

And it doesn’t fit

IMG_7321.jpeg

Looks like there’s just enough room until you compress the suspension

And then it hits the range extender

It’s the tiniest like 0.1mm collision. You can just hear it scrape. I suspect filing down a bit of the plastic on the range extender would work but I’m going to investigate if there’s any offset bottle mounts to raise it up a few mm

I should add the 250mm cable towards mount is perfect. And there was nothing to do for the bike to see the extender. Plugged in and it appeared on the kiox instantly

Sorry Phil, mine fitted no problem. As a possible solution, could you modify the mounting holes on the range extender frame bracket so you could move it up slightly?

It’s no bother. Maybe there’s slight differences in the mounting holes I dunno

I definitely could alter the holes to get a bit more clearance but there’s a metal reinforcement in them. The mount is only £9 so I’ve ordered a 2nd one to try

I’ve also ordered a b-rad rail and I’ll try that to see if I can mount it a bit further up the frame. Really sad that cube ended up in this place as there’s plenty of room for the mounting holes to be higher up the frame

Wolftooth make brackets for moving bottle cages (or range extender mounts) up or down from their default position.
Yeah that’s what I’m gonna try. My concern is they add height so will push the extender more towards the shock

Watching this,as i have a super deluxe ultimate thats like your fox.
This has made me not buy one, yet.

I 3d printed a b-rad yesterday and tried it.
Definitely gives loads of clearance but the extender wobbles about a lot. So getting a proper metal one delivered today

I think with the combination of that to move up the frame about 10mm and maybe a 3d printed surround to give the bracket a bit more support it will work fine

I’ll post updates when I have them 🙂

Bought one of the b-rad rip offs on Amazon for like £5. Works a treat

Shifted the extender up about 10mm, tons of clearance. Feels pretty sturdy. Been out and done 20miles around Sutton bank today with no issues

I definitely wouldn’t have it on for jumps at Hamsterley or fast berms. But for a long afternoon out doing XC it seems fine 🙂

The adapter if anyone wants one

Bike Bottle Cage Adapter, Bicycle...
For £5.49 it’s made of metal, comes with a variety of different length bolts and works well 👍

What did you hit to do the frame damage below the powermore, ouch!

It’s not frame damage. It’s a tear in the invisiframe

I propped my bike up whilst loading the van and some stupid dog walkers walked into it and dropped it on a boulder 🤬

I've looked on the flow app but can't find anything regarding powermore..
Your LBS will need to update the firmware to include the PowerMore Ready option which will allow you to add a PowerMore battery. Good luck with that, most LBS's haven't got a clue on how to do it. I spent 2 unsuccessful years trying to find an LBS that had the knowledge and inclination to do it. In the end our now absent good friend Rudi came to my rescue and updated my bikes firmware over the internet. If your LBS is no help then the try this Ebike Doctor they do charge a fee but it is likely to be less and less hassle than an LBS. For more info from this forum see here.

Hi,

How is the bike after the update ?

You can still update/auto-update the different components ?

My only concern now are the water bottle holes that support the 250 Wh battery; but I haven't found anybody to give a feedback that the frame broke because they were not sturdy enough for the Powermore.

Everything is working great, no problems at all. As far as I am aware the last Flow app. Bosch update was in December 2025, which was before the "Rudi" update. I had already checked with the bike manufacturer who confirmed the would supply a new configuration with PowerMore (it was anyway activated on the same model as mine the following year, 2024), I just could not find an LBS who could do it!

Just as a follow up - I’ve done 3 rides with the powermore now and it’s all been flawless. I love the way the bike uses both batteries in combination, my friend has a shimano motor and that uses the main battery first then has an awkward cut over when it switches to the extender.

I also replaced the invisiframe that had damage and my god that company is a pleasure to talk to. They sold me just the damaged piece, removed the old with a bit of heat and replaced, looks like new again 😁

Hi Phil, What size frame is that, I was just about to pull the trigger on a Powermore but I'm running the Fox Float x2 which looks bigger at the top than the float,

Hi. Its a large frame and yeah with the x2 I think it’d be pretty challenging to make it fit
