Bosch gen5 bikes, which ones do you like?

Crestline is kind of inline with pivot, Santa Cruz and others for pricing when you look at what the spec is. The pivot shuttle LT xtr is about $750 usd cheaper than the top end Crestline.if you preorder and get the discount from Crestline. The crestline has a better spec and carbon rims. They are all crazy expensive but my point is Crestline doesn't seem worse than any of the others.

True if you are within their country.

If you are like me outside, in Europe, then the price goes drastically up and you are on your own for duty & taxes where most of other brands have relay/warehouse/reseller where you can get a nearly similar price in every country.

Still this is right the Crestline, without taxes, is a great deal, good geo, goo kenematics, good parts, I would rather spend my money on them than on the recent pivot/focus/santa/amflow.

It was just a way to start a discussion topic during the week of the new bosch release.

Turns out some of the new bikes don't have the new motor and many don't have the 800Wh battery, so we can't really consider them Gen5. So in the end I added the AMflow which is very attractive in the trail segment.

Am I looking at the right Crestline? It starts at $10,000. I don't see how that can possibly be a good deal.

There¨s reason why there isn't so many 800 battery Bosch bikes introduced, you can see the difference between 600 and 800 for example here: JAM² 6.8

One major plus for me is the non-removable battery on Santa Cruz because:

• It allows for a lighter bike
• No risk of battery dropping in hard hits and compression
• Related to the above, no need to adjust battery brackets
• Less risk of random problems like power cutoffs since the battery is stable
• Bike looks better when you don't have that black battery cover under down tube
• More stealthy

I think all serious riders keep their bikes inside home or in garage where they can be charged. No-one should be leaving a 10k bike outside in the rain, waiting to get stolen.

The majority of the new releases with the latest bosch motor seem to be 160mm front 150mm rear (excluding the orbea Wild and maybe a couple of others)

Hopefully we see some released over the next few months with longer travel, winch and plummet style enduro bikes.

Merida just announced a 180mm bike, but somehow made it weigh 27.5kg. I still don't get how some brands made their new range heavier than the previous one despite a free 600g reduction in the electronics.

Not everyone has the space. Also up in the PNW in the winter your bike get so muddy, you can wash it but it will still drip water out here and there until it fully dries so best to keep it in a garage if you have one. But even if we don't get snow it is to cold to leave the battery in an unheated garage.

Possibly the best deal out there right now, couldn't resist and will tide me over until the DJI motor appears in a big 170mm bike.
