Bosch Flow 1.34 features

I'm using my Garmin Instinct 2 watch
Ah I didn't realise this was an option.

Does this now mean I can use the flow app to capture ride details and the file it creates will capture HR, gps as well as power output etc?

I'd like to continue to upload to strava. Currently I just use the watch and garmin connect syncs up with strava but it doesn't have any info from the Bosch power meter.

Cheers

@trekRailIRL Since the update I recorded my ride in Flow now its recording HR data and then exported it as a FIT file and manually uploaded to Strava and Garmin to prove that the data was being stored correctly.

Now that I know it can do this I'm gonna turn on my Garmin connection to Strava to see how well importing the file to Connect will show when it syncs across. What I would like is for Flow to connect to Garmin or ultimatly Bosch open up the data directly to Garmin so I dont have to rely on Flow app

The HR recording is not working quite as advertised though. I’ve not exported my last ride but the video Bosch did for the 1.34 update showed a 5th tab for HR analysis post ride. However I still only see the 4 tabs, elevation, speed, cadence and power. The 5the tabs for HR is not available in the flow app. Will export the fit file and see what that shows.

Edit: exported the fit file and no HR data is present. The flow app was running on my Apple Watch displaying HR during the activity and the HR icon in the settings screen on the kiox had a tick.

I love my Trek Rail Bosch CX4 bike but I am afraid Bosch not only have dropped the ball, they don't know how to find it anymore. While Bosch is adding jump stats to their app, DJI is slaughtering them in the new EMTB market.
Bosch don't have to go into the power game, just simply need to increase the assistance level and keep out of the max power. They are such nice motors and most people are really happy with them, I think that I would not bother with increased assistance myself, but some people need it. Shame that Bosch just do not increase the assistance level a little, it would put this power game to bed and we could all get back to enjoying EMTB without racing each other to legislation on the trails.
Increase assistance levels?
They have THREE silly high assistance modes (turbo, embt+ and auto) and you can customize them to even more ridiculous levels. embt and embt+ also have optional overrun.

Yes, you still need to slightly touch the pedals now and then, but that is required by law.

Make sure the H10 has the latest firmware via the Polar Flow app. You might also have to remove it from your phone and re-pair it to get it to connect and be stable
My H10 is on the latest firmware 4.2 and I did remove and re-pair it to the Bosch bike. I then even removed the Flow app from my phone and re-installed everything fresh. Still no stable connection with the H10.

Thanks, I have an Apple Watch and will try that next. The AW was connected before the Bosch update and showed heart rate on the Kiox nearly every ride. It wasn't completely reliable, so I thought changing to my Polar strap would improve that. No luck with the strap. The H10 has worked on my non smart CX gen4 with Nyon2 for five years without a problem. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, it is annoying, to silence your Kiox, go to Settings > My Kiox > Volume and select Off. You can also choose Low, Medium, or High. I think the sounds are really only useful if you rely on Kiox navigation alerts.
On a Kiox 400C you can individually turn alarms on or off for different events. You need to go into the settings on the Kiox device, select sound and there are three sliders for system, navigation and tricks.

If you want to disable tricks detection completely, you can also do that on the device.

I took my H10 out and connected yesterday to see if it works. Seems there is a connection problem between the Bosch Flow app and the H10. I'm seeing the H10 connect to the Bosch app and then and drop connection in a loop. I've logged a support ticket with my local Polar distributor and with Bosch

That is the same behaviour as mine.
I have a guess what might cause this. In December Polar gave us a firmware update for the H10 that mainly implemented encrypted data transmission from the H10 to any connected device. I suspect that we are able to connect the strap but the Bosch device fails in decrypting the signal and then drops the connection going into a loop re-connecting / dropping.

Good find :)
If it isnt this one , this would work nicely anyway (y)
It's not that one - because my bike never had the controller in the frame.

I designed and sell a universal mount that allows you to mount the 400c onto a garmin mount

Scuttlebutt is out. Another update will be coming for the CX5 to 120 Newton meters, late this spring.

I'll answer my own question, shared here in case anyone else is curious: Yes, the new tricks feature does function/record without a display. Clearly, one won't see individual tricks but the summary will appear in the Flow app (whether the metrics are believable or not...).

Also can confirm that a Fenix 8 broadcasting HR is picked up by the Flow app as well.

So what kind of angle you pulling on those wheelies?!!

Whats your best stoppie?

Strava just needs to work with these tricks now so I can post my 2m wheelies to my 4 followers

Got this error tonight on first ride with new software....

Seems to have since cleared.

Not sure if coincidence

Is there some notification or something on kiox 400c that I need to check. I did the update but something is not working, it doesn't show me any jumps, nor it connects to my watch to show me any heart rate.

You need to enable trick check on the Kiox 400C. This should be on by default and can be found in the settings screen of the device (not in the Flow app).

Read this for some details: Trick Check

About heart rate, are you using an Apple Watch?

Thank you for the information, I really appreciate it. I'm using Samsung galaxy watch 7

I have mine connected to Strava. Is there a way do it doesn't count every time I take a spin around my driveway as a "ride"? Can I set like a minimum limit so that it doesn't count unless I ride more than 1 or 2 miles?

Otherwise everyone I take a lap around the yard it's trying to upload that to Strava.

The HR thing sounded interesting but my Garmin records my HR the whole time anyway so unless it is sort of varying the assist levels based on my HR, it is not that interesting.

you need to have the app installed (I have e.g. Heart for Bluetooth) on your watch so that the Bluetooth signal can be added and then the device to be added will appear in the Flow Up app

Do you have to turn it on (the tricks recording) somewhere? I have a smart Gen4 and as you, no display. I usually keep both wheels on the ground, but might try to do a trick just to see if it gets recorded.

Got it! Thank you very much.

Has anyone had any luck importing Bosch Flow generated .FIT files into Garmin Connect..?

Doesn’t work for me, which is disappointing.

You need to ensure that you have the updated firmware along with the Flow app 1.34. From there, just record your ride with the Flow app and at the end of your ride, scroll to the bottom and you should see the summary.

I've ridden 2 rides and see the summary.

I have the latest update on the bike and app 1.34.6.
I see no such summary, but I haven't done any tricks either. Is the summary there regardless of tricks / no tricks?
