How often can you hit the Boost button? I know it's giving me 30 seconds of overdrive, but how long after that 30 seconds is up before I'm able to press it again and boost again?

I can't find the answer online.

Cheers

First you can set up Boost for 1 min long… ⏱️
I have always been able to restart the boost immediately after it stops after the allotted time, but I monitor the engine temperature 🌡️ as a precaution on the AVINOX screen…

I just set up Boost for 60 secs - thanks, didn't know about that.

How do you get that setting to show temperature? I don't have the Pro, but would assume it's the same software.

You have to set up it on Avinox Ride App, in «screen setting » you chose what you want to display.

Thanks super cool, didn't know that.

I've experimented with hitting boost, again, and again,, and again, and again..... the motor does get really hot, and of course, the battery noticeably drains faster. I am pretty sure DJI is monitoring the temp with the controller, and I feel like it cuts back to a certain level regardless if the motor is running hot.

But I don't use boost too often when riding, just once in a while on an uphill, passing my buddies.

Haven't seen anyone burn out a motor yet, has anyone I wonder? IF not, that's promising and says a lot about thermal management of the motor.

I's guess Outside temp has some influence with how its running in boost. In the winter the motor will cool much faster. That maybe won't change how many times you can hit boost, depends - that's in the software, but it will change the efficiency of the motor,, when you do. The hotter the motor is, the lower it is running on it's efficiency curve.

What's interesting to me, is that 1 minute is basically a continuous capability for an electric motor. Whatever it's running at in boost ,, 1000 - 1200 watts, if it can do that for 1 minute straight, that means this motor is capable of much more intermittent peak. Crazy. Easily 2000 watts +. But that would be in the range of seconds, not minutes. And at that point, something else is probably going to break, like the gears, etc, and the battery would be draining like hell. No point.

I feel the power has been perfect wonderful, I rarely feel like or crave I want more. OK, there is never enough. But The bike is fast and powerful enough such that my skill limits me, not the bike. Very much like a hybrid of MTB and enduro motocross. All my other ebikes over the years, I felt like the ebike limits me, not my skill. Definitely on the uphills.

DreAMFLOW - she is a fire breathing dragon. Love this bike.

Thanks - will have a potter. As far as I can tell, you can't set any of these settings unless you're connected to the bike, right? i.e. I can't fiddle with the app and play until I get things as I want them, and then those settings will upload to the bike when in range?

For me, sitting here at work at the moment, all those settings are greyed out and only come available when I'm home and near the bike.

No way around that, I assume?

Correct, after this thread I found temperature screen, but its not the graph in Phils picture

I would be curious if the only temp screen is motor temp.

Yes It is motor temp 🌡️… For now the maximum temperature I reached is 70°…
In this photo the temperature is 57° in Boost mode 📈 997 W.

¿Hablas español? 🇪🇸

I had no bar graph, started my 27 miles at 35C and it stayed 38C and didnt move

In settings it does not say motor temp, just temp and it was 95f out
Yet the spanish 🇪🇸vidéo is perfectly clear❗️His explanation to set up motor temperature is very good.👌
Even if it is written in Spanish you can easily understand it : 🇪🇸Temperatura del motor : Gráfico de barras” means “🇬🇧MOTOR TEMP : BAR GRAH”.
🤔 You probably choose wrong setting temperature and set up weather ❄️🌧️☀️temperature instead of motor temp… 🫢
