Bike Setup + Trail Conditions Intelligence App Beta Testers needed

This could be massive if it takes off. Keeping the app updated will be absolutely key. There could be an absolute torrent of information coming in, all needing to be processed and made available.

Currently (and probably for the forseeable future) I don't believe that I ride enough new places for the app to be the tool for me.

Great idea Rob! :) You could become the mtb equivalent of TomTom!

I do a lot of trails in wales and Scotland, also a hell of a lot of off piste,in both locations this app could be really good for the mtb community if riders use it.

I’ll give it a shot. I’m in the PNW, but on the dry Inland side of WA so more snow and freezing temps. More indoor and fat biking, but the snow is not snowing so need to get out and check the dirt. Our trails are very affected by the freeze/thaw cycle.

Hi, over the past couple of weeks I made a new app. Mainly for myself, but now think its probably useful for others.

1 - Trail conditions. Shows you local trail conditions based on several environmental factors
2 - Custom suspension setup advice. Based on your information
3 - Explore trails. Shows recommendations based on where's best to ride

If anyone is interested in testing it - here’s the Beta.

Its definitely not ready for full release, am interested in finding bugs / weirdness and just generally what people like and dont like.

iOS only, will probably need latest iOS release to test.

Thanks
Rob

Looks good! Has this been made on Replit?

I’ve been using this for a few days now. I’m not one for micro adjusting pressures and settings, I find something that works and use it for everything. I do like the suggestions of when and where might be best to ride
FYI the suspension settings suggested are wildly different to the ones Fox recommends for the fork and shock I’m using
Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work

thanks for feedback. Can you let me know more details about what its recommending? will be good to see where the app is getting it wrong.

I’m 90kg + 4kg for kit and choose balanced setting from Plush. The settings are from the Fox tables with the Plush ones in brackets and the actual setting I’m using listed for reference. I like both wheels on the floor when I’m riding and ride natural trails

Fox 38 Float Factory GRIPX2 170mm
Fork 111psi (97) - I ride 90
Sag 34mm
LSR 5 (15) I ride 5
HSR 4 (15) I ride 4
HSC 5 (9) I ride 9
LSC 10 (13) I ride 10
Three volume spacer from factory Fox recommend 3 (2) I ride none

Fox Float X2 Factory, 230x65mm
Shock 235psi (224)
Sag 19mm
HSR 2-3 (15) I ride 4
LSR 4-6 (15) I ride 6
HSC 4-5 (9) I ride 4
LSC 6-8 (13) I ride 6
One volume spacer from factory (1) I ride 1

Can anyone with the latest app confirm they can see trail reviews?

I’m not seeing any, that might because there aren’t any

Did however have great fun using the AI chat last night. As mentioned before, I have a vorsprung smashpot and Push damper in my Zeb ultimates and also a Ohlins TTX with a custom spring so none of the standard settings applied. Got to a setup with the chat though that I’m looking forward to trying out.

Would someone mind adding one? I need to check it’s uploading them to production server

Excellent! Would be intrigued to see how it responded to your unique case!

Sherwood pines submitted
Thanks - It didnt come through. Have made some changes my end, is it possible you can force quite the app, open it and try submitting it again? Does it give you the "Success" screen?

Resubmitted, get a thanks for your report screen. Also sent AI chat through app feedback.
Awesome - can you see it in your app now? On the Explore tab, is it saved there also (with my Surrey Hills one)?

Got it, thanks. I need to train the AI on some of these nuanced differences in some of the components. Excellent feedback though and really helps.

No Surrey Hills. Update - Now showing !
Regarding the Chat function, out of 10, what would you score it for helpfulness?

1 - Useless being useless and 10 being Elite/Outstanding

In the context of custom components that I used it for, and for people that have limited knowledge of tuning suspension. I think it’s a solid 8/10 mainly for getting all the info in one place and its ease of use. If I can ride like a god after the recommendations it will get a 10/10 😃
