I got my new trek rail about 3 weeks ago, failed to ask about battery charging, when I got it the bike had 30% and has been in storage since delivery.

Should I leave the battery at 30% until I can ride it or should it be charged up to 100% or doesn’t it make a difference?

Thanks

Thanks! I wasn’t expecting the bike to be delivered but they turned up 24hrs after ordering, which is frustrating as it’s just sat there at the moment.

Why can't you ride it now?

U.K. is on lockdown, i live in the city closest mtb trails are 45 miles away, the FC have closed all sites (I know pretty unenforceable) and while the lockdown rules are a tad loose, me driving to exercise that distance would probably be pushing the boundaries of what we are allowed to do.

My road bike is getting plenty of rides out of the lockdown!

Buy an OS map and have a good look round for places to ride your emtb.
Failing that, just get out and ride! There will be flights of steps to ride up/down, maybe a park. You have loads of canals in Birmingham, which are always nice to ride along. There must be something that you can ride that isn't flat and vanilla.

Canal from Kings Norton to Stratford. Not as boring as most canals. Lots of history, nice countryside and you will get to know your new bike.

Yep I ride it frequently I’ve got an orange speedworks which is a great canal bike.

Keep your eyes open when you come to bridges; just to one side, there is usually a short and steep descent developed by other riders. Then you can try riding back up it!!!
