Avinox Navigation on Display released

Unfortunately, the 32 km route I set up does not work. The display freezes and locks up the entire bike system, requiring a restart to return to normal operation. I have already sent a video to Amflow through the Avinox app, and I hope they resolve the issue quickly. Please find attached the GPX file I tried, used an IPhone 15 pro with the latest IOS 23.3.1

Do you get any useful data like how many kms/miles are left or only the map?

Could you please provide the bicycle log, route file, and phone model used so we can follow up on the issue? Also, Please also provide more details about the scenario in which the problem occurred.
The GPX loads nicely into the App. But as soon as you "Send to Device", the screen locks up, and the handlebar switches do nothing. You have to press and hold the power button to reset the bike.

I have just transferred a 23km circular route (Android app v1.3.30) and it has worked OK. Pressed to start to navigate (will get confused as I'm miles away from the start) and seemed to work other than error about lack of GPS signal. I'll try the same thing later when I'm well away from any buildings or anything else to interfere with GPS.

I've tried the navigation today on my Amflow PL Carbon after the software update. (sorry for the German screenshots)

You have four different options to start navigation:
  1. Upload a GPX, TCX, or FIT file
  2. Select a track from komoot after you have connected the account
  3. Use one of the recent navigation files
  4. Use one of the recorded runs you did with the app
The navigation itself is really good - it extracts turns out of the GPS data. Here is a picture of it during my ride:

I had one problem during the run: it does not continue as soon as you get off the track a bit and get back on it. The navigation always says to get back where you left off the track (even though you are on the track again):

My summary:
  • Good navigation with cool features!
  • Very cool that it can extract turns out the GPX infos - this works really well.
  • You cannot switch to the other screens with your remote - you have to swipe on the display. You can get back to navigation from the control center screen.
  • Small issue: the navigation cannot get back on track once you got off it.

I tried a 28 mile route today and found exactly the same as derkoe. Route imported from komoot from Ride app on android phone. Annoying that you cannot move screens without using the exit button on the nav screen. Route switched to KM's when screen is st to miles. Shame it hasn't got a view of distance remaining. I ran it alongside my Karoo2 and it seemed pretty accurate. Big issue is that after we stopped at a cafe it didn't continue after the bike was restarted afterwards.

Ah, that's not looking great to me.... unless you can overlay the gpx onto a map that means I'll be sticking to my Garmin....
not the end of the world but would have been great to be able to abandon the Garmin.
I'll wait until I get it and give it a go, but will see.

Give it 1-2 updates

It seems to me DJI had the opportunity to do something really big here and they stopped halfway. Yes, the fact that they include ANY kind of navigation is great, but if they had included full-blown maps (which the screen would have been able to manage), more flexibility and options that are already included in most GPS units (navigate in reverse, navigate to a point, etc.), they could have put themselves leagues ahead.

They’re already leagues ahead 😂😂

But instead of delaying bike release over a navigation system, they will most likely be just doing the bug fixes/upgrades in nav through updates.

the question here is how powerful the cpu is and if that's even possible?

I mean, it’s been possible on garmins for like two decades, I don’t think it’s a cpu limitation, maybe more likely a storage limitation, if it’s not been planned for , the head unit probably only needs 64/128mb
Start putting maps on its a few GB

Yesterday, I tried to use it again and noticed that it freezes if I touch the screen or try to change the display mode on the right-hand controller. It works fine if I only change the motor mode (eco/auto/etc.).

Have you tried pressing the exit icon (bottom left I think)? This doesn't stop the navigation and you can go back later. I guess in time you'll be able to set up another screen just for navigation

Hi, the same happened to me today. The screen just freezes. I had to turn off the bike.
-Bike: Forbidden Druid Core M1
-Phone: IPhone 15 Pro Max
-The file is in TCX format

Did you try pressing the exit icon on the Nav screen. Mine wouldn't react to any buttons until i left the nav screen. You can then go back to the nav screen via the main menu.

Yes I Tried. The screen just froze. No way to make it go back.

Before going on a ride today, there was an app / firmware update that I applied (phone version v1.3.30, device version v01.03.01.10). I had already loaded the Borrowdale Bash GPX after amending the starting point. Navigation worked as expected - not quite turn by turn but a visual indicator of which way you were going. Clear, easy to read (even in sunshine [yes, we had sunshine in the Lakes today]) and enough to get you to where you want to go.

However, if you stray off the route you get nada ! Just a message saying off track and to get back onto it with no help / indication of which way to go. When you do get back on the track, picks it up again and carries on.

However (2), having tried navigation today, the bike didn't record the ride - I have my Garmin stats but not the bike stats so wondering if it can't do both things at once (navigate & record). Perhaps GPS isn't clever enough to be shared ?

So is it going to replace my preferred GPS (IGPSport) - very unlikely but very useful to have the capability to do it.

Do you need to reset your country/location with this update?
Assuming you mean setting a different location to bypass the speed assistance. No idea - I'm in the UK and that's my region/country.

The system will reset your store location and set a new one base on your phone ip. So generally is going to be the same as the original.

OK thanks. The last update, before this one. (i'm in the UK and using NZ) didn't change back to UK on update

And weirdly, my ride has appeared in the Avinox Ride app and I can sync - no idea why other than (probable) user error.

Has anyone found where to remove/disable the “boost boost” option for the m1 motor? None of the setting stick and I find sometimes when trying to activate boost I accidentally change modes into boost boost and have zero assist.

Thanks in advance!
