Avinox M2

PR removeable doesnt reduce the peak power - it is at 1500W whereas the older ones are reduced to 1300W. Hence my initial assumption. It could be same cells but different BMS/wiring)....
The new cells allow constant 1500W, not just 1500W Boost mode.

"The M2S can sustain its headline figures of 1,500 W peak power and 150 Nm of torque on a continuous basis only when paired with the new FP700 — Avinox’s 700 Wh battery. The 600 Wh and 800 Wh options are limited to delivering this output in Boost mode for up to 60 seconds. The distinction lies not in capacity, but in cell technology. The FP700 employs the new 4680 cell format, capable of supplying substantially higher discharge currents than its predecessors — and it is precisely this current headroom that unlocks the motor’s full potential."

From the official Amflow site:

12. Due to size constraints, the Avinox RS600 Battery is only available for XL and XXL models in the Amflow PX series and is sold separately. Additional configurations will be available soon.

Having so much power in PX and needing to save battery is a bit sad. Too much range anxiety for my taste 😀
Might go with PR with dual battery.
Or wait for 930wh version... but then i doubt it will come to PR model. And i neee removeable as no electric plug in the basement.

Px will probably be prioritized.

Marketing on Amflow is interesting... less focus, not even a mention of peak power on marketing page. Instead they focus on max continuous torque. Likely a spin to not draw so much attention to power levels which are regulated. Even fine print restates continuous power level of 250W.

Why did they increase the power then? Nobody asked for it! 🤣

Last thing everyone wants is fear of illegitimising the ebikes and having then confiscated.
Wouldnt mind an update to limit to 750w.
As long as the speed limit can be lifted.

Hmmm!

Didn't see that bit on the PX splash page.
Not mentioned on the PX spec. page.
The PR spec. page has the info that I quoted from.
Accessories page clearly shows that the chargers for PX/PL are different from the PR chargers. The RS 600 battery is not listed yet. The RS 800 has a square socket.
They will presumably have a special cable or 2 to fit each system ?

p.s. The RS 600 will probably fit the L size PR Pro if a shock with no piggyback side cylinder is used.

@Rob Rides EMTB has mentioned to have the RS600 and I believe he has only the Amflow PX one so he may be able to comment on this

Rumours say 936wh molicell battery in certification phase.

It says 150nm so it will be M2S. It likely uses the last gen 600/800 batteries which cap the M2S at 1300w power.

  • Avinox M2 (performance is independent of battery configuration)
    Regular Modes: 1100 W, 110 Nm
    Boost Mode: 1100 W / 125 Nm
  • Avinox M2S + 800 Wh fixed battery (FS800) or 600 Wh (FS600)
    Regular modes: 1,300 W / 130 Nm
    Boost mode: 1,300 W / 150 Nm
  • Avinox M2S + 800 Wh removable battery (RS800)
    Regular modes: 1,300 W / 130 Nm
    Boost mode: 1,500 W / 150 Nm
  • Avinox M2S + 700 Wh
    Regular Modes: 1500 W, 130 Nm
    Boost Mode: 1500 W / 150 Nm
Nothing quite lines up ? It is closest to M2S though :)

The Avinox motor runs on a 36V system. To hit that voltage with these 4680 cells, you MUST have 10 cells connected in a single row (10S1P).

  • Adding 3 extra cells in a row to increase the WH would jump the voltage to 48V , it is chemistry, physics and math - even Avinox cant make miracles which is hard to believe for some. I don't think it is going to happen this year. It is completely new system. Specialized is using it and it is overall better but it needs complete overhaul.
  • Don't even know if there is a space for extra 3 cylindrical cells, maybe in the biggest frame.
  • Only way would be range extender for PX line.
  • in future if the length of the battery is already on the limits, they would need to look for thicker cylindrical cells to increase WH. That means thicker tube. Unless there will be a revolutionary cylindrical cell with same size and increased energy.

So sadly 936WH battery is not coming to PX. It may come to PR models though, with Molicell that are not cylindrical.
Correct me if im wrong. I wish i was!
