Hi,

Anyone has News about the new Avinox M2 SL?

In the Unno Orderbook 2026 the motor Name is M2 SL.

All I've heard is the standard M2 will be slightly more powerful than the M1, perhaps 130nm, not sure on watts. And there will be an SL version, no numbers mentioned.

This came from a Spanish store that's making YT videos and are offering 5 year warranties on Avinox systems. And the Avinox hater himself, Alex, has said the same thing. Apparently dropping in Feb 2026.

All just unsubstantiated rumors, but if you've seen something in an orderbook that gives them some weight.

Who is offering 5 years warranty on Avinox? Cheers!

With the original design being a first attempt and doing it in grand form. I would think that a lot has been learned and a V2 would be the logical progression.

The store is: ebike Guadarrama, in Spain, the owner offers 5 year warranty for the Avinox motor.

Supposedly embargoed until next year but partner brands have already been notified. It's great that DJI is providing competition in this space, hopefully the other motor brands are able to come up with something comparable or better.

Considering how well round one was out of the box, V2 will be interesting, I'm keeping the popcorn warm :)

As with all these things, your always chasing your tail with technology...the next big great thing is always just around the corner.

How much more power do we really need over and above what the current dji motor provides?

I'm more interested in weight savings, reliability of the motors, improved smoothness of use (probably related to improved in motor sensors) and a lighter, higher amp/hour battery that is highly unlikely to spontaneously combust!

To add to the speculation, I would be inclined to believe that the immediate improvement that is needed, is to address the "rattle" noise that seems to be an issue in many of the current power trains.

Additionally, Amflow has some serious contenders both with design, weight, and value with brands like Megamo and Crussis introducing beautiful new bikes at similar prices.

What will be most interesting to see is if they keep the mounting the same so existing frames can use the newer motor. That would be a big counter position to the likes of Bosch and others who have historically treated their motor updates as whole new platforms with no backward compatibility.

Been comparing SL bikes recently, considering getting a heavily discounted short travel one on top of my big travel full fat.

A 70nm (~500W) DJI at around 2kg, ideally with a revamped battery pack with 250Wh/kg would definitely make me wait until next spring.

I would really like to see this aswell. Especially for the used market, as emtbs loose so much value as the tech gets older and it's very difficult to easily source replacement parts/ upgrades for the electronic side of the systems.

From an e-waste perspective, I'm not sure why this isn't more of a focus for brands.

Given all they do is make motors and don’t seem to have any big loyalty to specific brands like the other big players do, maybe we’ll get a chance to see it. Wouldn’t expect them to stick to 1 platform forever, but even if you got 2 generations of motors out of it that would be a huge win and help attract more people to the platform. To your point, being able to swap a brand new motor and possibly battery in a 3 or so year old bike would really help the second hand market for e-bikes versus its current state.

The main thing making me think they’ll have it share the mounting pattern is half of the bike manufacturers have only started shipping bikes with this motor in the last few months, and the motor itself only became available about a year ago. Switching it all out now without compatibility seems way too fast. The other companies that have no backward compatibility seem to get at least 2-3 years out of a motor before the next generation. Coming out with something that’s not backwards compatible would really piss off manufacturers that have only just started getting their bikes out the door (Velduro, Megamo, Forbidden, Teewing, Crestline, etc).

Ha... reinforces why I prefer to listen to individuals personal ownership opinions rather than professional media marketers.

I just think he's gone full tin-hat mode. Maybe he feels leaning into the data breach fear campaign will get support from old school viewers.

If you have a Mobile Phone or Laptop. You're data is out there. Not sure why hackers are going to want to know your cadence, favourite MTB trails or heartrate. I think they are more interested in apps that contain personal identification or your banking details.

The only personal data the Avinox App has, is an email. And I used my SPAM email account and that has a fake name.

Whilst I’d love this to be the way they go, don’t hold your breath.

They only want to sell you a ‘new thing’ rather than help keep your ‘old thing’ going.

If you’re a bike manufacturer about to order x thousand motors and batteries for your new EMTB release, the last thing you want to hear is Avinox will sell a new and upgraded motor to the public to compete with it.

So, whilst I share the concerns raised around e-waste and the like, I can’t see it happening.

dont think they come with a full power m2 now because they will piss off the other manufactores they just starts selling their bikes now like megamo, forbidden, unno, crusis .... and dji has still no contender and no big problems with the current m1. If the money flows with the current system there will be no new m1/m2. if they come with a m2 now it woud be a SL light motor or a tune like RS shimano did with some tewaks on the engine. these are my 2 cents

There are 2 new motors coming.
One as mentioned in the video, the other an updated more refined and powerfull m1.

I missed the first round of Crestline frames thanks to BA’s shit inflight WiFi. I was planning to get in on the January order but if there’s a new motor coming I’d rather wait. It’s looking like they’re doing the same thing they did in the drone world, constantly coming out with new stuff so the thing you bought a year ago is already the “old” tech.

How were you going to purchase the motor and battery, as Crestline wouldn't ship them overseas?
