Because the 600 is too small and the 800 too big?I don't really understand why Avinox would offer a 700wh version in addition to 600wh and 800wh. Why would anyone choose 700?

Someone forgot to hit the shift key!Unless the “7” is a typo and should be a “/“.
As in either or size. It would seem a bit Goldilocks to be asked to choose such a short range of battery, albeit Atherton offer loads of frame sizes so maybe continues the theme of customisable exactly to the buyer’s needs.
Rumours are that the 600 is being replaced by 700 but with the same/similar weight, not long to go now thoughI don't really understand why Avinox would offer a 700wh version in addition to 600wh and 800wh. Why would anyone choose 700?
I don’t think they would make a batt just
dealers going to see the new bike tomorrowRumours are that the 600 is being replaced by 700 but with the same/similar weight, not long to go now though
All rumors, nothing is confirmed. Despite what anyone saysI know I'm old and senile, but I thought we'd already established multiple times that there will be the existing 600 and 800 batteries. The new high density versions of those and the new more oval format battery for the Atherton and some other bikes which are using that format.
From what I have been told the bike shops have had to sign very strict NDAs.It also feels like there is a big influx of new users that are asking questions that have been discussed over and over for the past months here. I imagine a lot of people have been getting limited info from their bike shops, and when they go online for more details they get sent here due to the lack of official news.
Why would you blame dji for this? They set a date for the information to be released. I’m sure these brands were told to not hint or mention anything about said upcoming products. They could have waited for the release to design the bike around it if it frustrated them. The whole DJI embargo thing is getting a bit daft, looks like Megamo have "leaked" the specs for the M2s at core bike show. Crestline are telling people to note it on the order if they want a battery in-between 6 and 800. Thomus have demo bikes out with the M2S that people are riding. It just seems pretty ridiculous at this point, but typical DJI if you know the drones.
Must be frustrating for Atherton and customers
Only the same as every other brand. The whole DJI embargo thing is getting a bit daft, looks like Megamo have "leaked" the specs for the M2s at core bike show. Well I'm not sure if some of its orchestrated by DJI, but I'm not blaming them. Its daft the way it's being broken / abused by some companies like Megamo/Thomus to put the spotlight on themselves. Why would you blame dji for this? The bike companies are teasing us, not so much Avinox imo. And that’s to build interest and get us talking I guess. Kinda fun in a way.
Shame really, it’s nice to have a surprise. No doubt some makers want to get the spot light on their products first.Well I'm not sure if some of its orchestrated by DJI, but I'm not blaming them. As Zimmerframe has said it's detracting from the reveal on the 9th
Yeah I get that. I doubt dji/avinox told them to leak that though lol. That’s on them. Enjoy the excitement though! Happens in every industry.Well I'm not sure if some of its orchestrated by DJI, but I'm not blaming them. A lot more mellow than my hazey recollection and it doesn't have nighttrain mixed over it.We could just put it all here and hide it in a spoiler ??
ok, no, I'm not going to ruin it for everyoneBut if anyone was from the era of Trainspotting and remembered Underworld - Born Slippy, this is the best remix I've heard it it .. Sorry, feck all to do with the Atherton, but I will say it's not a 600wh battery. In the meantime, enjoy...
If you go back historically though, people wouldn't even propose their bike until the motor/battery was actually released. In this case we have some smaller companies who need to start gaining traction/getting some money back into development ASAP so we have this sort of pre-release. Not dissimilar to the automotive world where there is a proposed product without specifics for you to put your deposit down on until they finish development and you hope you get what you imagined/was hinted at.I do think DJI themselves made a poor choice in trying to delay the announcement until the bikes are ready to ship. On the one hand you have the inevitable situation now where loads of brands have the bikes ready, let alone the marketing materials, so of course stuff is going to leak. On the other hand, how are people expected to put down over 10k for Crestlines or Atherton bikes while being told "you'll have to wait and see what motor and battery you get".
Just a press release of the high level specs of the system in January or February with an expected street date would have made most brands' lives so much easier...

In this case at least you have the M1 base line, which is pretty much the ideal/more than you need already for most people and you know you'll be getting more - so does it matter ? We don't ride at 100% of motor output 100% of the time.
i think that DJI have played a blinder the way they have gone about the release of the new bike and motor. Discounts the old stock to sell out quickly in an orderly manner .Kept dealers on tight NDAs until the release date, but allowed manufacturers access to the motor and battery prior to this so they can get bikes production ready shortly after the embargo is lifted. That’s how I should be done. Not delay the bike a year for fear of price crashes on existing stock and allowing others to bring out much better systems, so when its does come out it’s already dead in the water and use customers as part of RnD team.Only a few weeks now until the 9th.I do think DJI themselves made a poor choice in trying to delay the announcement until the bikes are ready to ship. You still in the 600W battery camp? From what I am Told the new AMflow has the same 600/800 with a larger one to follow.
600w won’t work for me sadlyYou still in the 600W battery camp?![]()
i meant you still think the smaller size battery will be 600w rather than 700w, either way not long now600w won’t work for me sadly
Ah,i meant you still think the smaller size battery will be 600w rather than 700w, either way not long now![]()
Where did you see this?Ah,
It looks like the small one is 700w now…?
On the AMflow screen shot of the new bike before it was taken downWhere did you see this?
But there a bigger one also? As I recall reading that Ath said that they didn’t chase the larger batt. So if 700 is the new 800 what is the smaller one referring to?700wh confirmedView attachment 180296
700 will be new smallest one imo. Largest will be 900But there a bigger one also? As I recall reading that Ath said that they didn’t chase the larger batt. So if 700 is the new 800 what is the smaller one referring to?
