A newbie with a Dilema.

Thanks all for your input on this it; certainly been a frustrating issue that i believe would have been sorted quite quickly with a new post.

Anyway an update on the situation, without approval from Cube they won't install an new/upgraded post.
They don't have any of the current posts in-stock so an alternative would be needed but due to the Cube warranty they won't doe this without approval. This could take up to 4 weeks, the current Cube response time.

I kind of understand, i've had similar issues with cars in the past with non gen parts.

In the end they have offered to exchange the bike due to the time it will take and the ongoing issue i have had with the post. As a consumer my 30 day return timescale would have ran out and then in the hands Cube and warranties of which I'm really not keen on exploring although i really do like the Cube bike.

The trek is an upgrade to the Cube, with 160mm Rockshox Psylo gold Fork on on the front and a Rockshox Deluxe rear shock.
It's also runs a tubeless set up which is a bonus.

I've taken the plunge and agreed to the exchange, i just want to get out and ride without the hassle.

Fingers crossed all will be good going forward.

Thanks again everyone for your input.

Andy.

@Whittle Take up to 4 weeks to get it sorted? Blimey! You have done the sensible thing for sure.

Weather is getting better, have fun.

PS please don't forget to let us know how you get on.

IMO you have undoubtedly done the right thing. Trek's after sales service and warranty is excellent and if ever you do have a warranty issue you can take the bike to any Trek shop to handle it, not necessarily the shop you bought it from if you feel they are unhelpful. The Rail+ is also a great bike (y)

In your situation I would have done the same. I do think the shop could have been more helpful, like take the post from another Cube on the shop floor, but that's irrelevant now.

Let us know how you get on with the new bike.

All the best ;)
