CEF50 Ride Pics and Vids (only)

XL CEF50 next to XL Vitus E-Mythique Lt I'm pleased that I can use the Bafang Go+ app on both👍🏿

SZZS specific CEF50-main thread (initial builds and troubleshooting related only)

I see what you mean @TCFlowClyde. So after a weeks riding, I haven't encountered issues. But it's not ideal. I've never been a fan of the controls dictating where my levers and shifter should be placed. But the above setup for me will work for now👍🏿

So I remember a while back in the thread, someone asked about the dpc245.3 display and remote working with different clamp designs for brake levers and dropper levers. Whilst I've ended up implementing this on the E-Mythique, rest assured it is applicable to any emtb which uses the CANBus bafang...

Feels good to swing a leg over something quick and light after playing with a 26kg ebike😁👍🏿 If I've said it before, I'll say it again! No regrets✌🏿

Which frame size did you get and how tall are you @HiGrade ?

This is honestly, the best power hour emtb👊🏿

You can only amend the speed, governed by the top speed set by the firmware. So if the motor Is set to 15.5mph, the Bafang go+ app won't allow you to increase the top speed. Only besst pro can do that (subject to the firmware). You can decrease the top speed with Bafang go+. Similarly, you can't...

SZZS specific CEF50-main thread (initial builds and troubleshooting related only)

Besst tool and besst Pro are good for diagnostics and changing firmware on motors (CANBus). Nearly all of the parameters (in terms of motor tune) can be amended with the Bafang go+ app, provided the motor's firmware permits parameters to be amended via the app. The M820 is one of the newer...

So I'm opting to run a tyre insert in the rear, when running my CEF50 as a 29er. But I've gone about it in a very unusual way. Polyethylene Foam seems to work just fine. The weight increase of the rear wheel is negligible. But it does allow me to continue to use the DHR2 exo 2.4 tyre without...

SZZS specific CEF50-main thread (initial builds and troubleshooting related only)

This is how I prefer to run my M820 on my CEF50👍🏿 My startup angle is set so that the motor engages instantly. But the acceleration has been dialed back to give the motor more of a natural feeling. I use a 32t chainring and see no point going higher (imo). Truth be told, I find that I use thr...

I hear you👍🏿 Before I deep dive reprogram the M510, I wouldn't mind trying a 32t chainring. This is the chainring size I use on my E10. I have a feeling that the motor response (the start current) and the motor over-run (stop decay), 'might' benefit from a using a smaller chainring to compensate...

@mike_kelly is correct. Fortunately, my account with Bafang was setup up a couple of years ago. It is part of the reason why I aid those who build Dengfu and other ebikes, to get the most out of the M510/M600/M500 etc. On a different note, it looks like I'll need to use my spare DPC245.3...

I'll need to take better pictures (as well as upgrade/program a couple of choice components). But you're looking at two 2024 X-large emtbs which use the entire Bafang systems, which can both be ridden hard. Rejoice my tall DIY enthusiasts. We now have more options👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 Now, if you'll excuse...

Dengfu E55 (Emtb) and E56 (Fat Bike) - New selection of DIY frame

Oh. You mean the 1.5 tapered fork or 1.8 supertapered fork. Basically, the E55 is designed for the more common 1.5 tapered fork. Some ebike frames which use headset cable routing can use the newer 1.8 tapered steerer fork which is somewhat ebike specific. Offset Bushings make shock bushings...

Dengfu E55 (Emtb) and E56 (Fat Bike) - New selection of DIY frame

Do you mean 'fork ofset' or 'fork travel' Either way, the link below will probably explain it better👇🏿 https://www.theproscloset.com/blogs/news/why-mountain-bike-use-reduced-offset-forks#:~:text=Fork%20offset%20is%20the%20distance,trail'%20in%20the%20steering%20geometry. SZZS specific CEF50-main thread (initial builds and troubleshooting related only)

I wonder how easy it would be to retrofit the DP-E165 DIsplay to the CEF50🤔 I don't think any variant or generation of the frame would need reworking. Moreso, just a revised top tube plate. ...Food for thought!!

Swinging a leg over the Levo and then the CEF50, you don't notice subtle differences. But both are trail emtbs afterall. And both are just as capable as each other. Obviously, the components between the two will influence the ride characteristics. Suspension components with more adjustability...

Shenzhen Zhaosheng Carbon CEF52 using Shimano EP801 motor

So the above shows the Shimano BT-8036 (above) and the Darfon E4C0C (below) As you can see, the Darfon battery connector is different to the Shimano BT-8036. So both require specific battery mounts and specific external battery charger attachments. Unfortunately, I don't have the specific...

Shenzhen Zhaosheng Carbon CEF52 using Shimano EP801 motor

The Darfon battery connector is different to the Shimano BT-8035/8036/EN805/EN805 etc. The lower mounts vary depending which battery type used. I'll take pictures later which should explain things further and leave links to which lower mount works with which particular battery type👍🏿

Shenzhen Zhaosheng Carbon CEF52 using Shimano EP801 motor

Damn it!!! Looks like the CEF52 is designed for a key lock style battery mechanism. Oh well. Headset cable variants for the initial batch. Maybe they'll offer variants without the key hole and simply allow the use of the BM-EN801A battery mount.
