absolutely of no use on a 4x4 offroad so why would it be of any use on an off road bike, if your riding on summer marbles no amount of abs is gonna help.
Have a look in the bottom Allen bolt it may have a hole in the head to accept a smaller Allen key to adjust the rebound. Rockshox have similar and the red adjuster knob used to fall out for a pastime!!
According to the website you should have a red rebound knob on bottom of right hand leg! Getting a fork without rebound damping would be pretty hard these days I would have thought.
Yep you missed the point with the SL! Nobody who loves ff ebikes will like the SL, if however you want a bike that handles like a steam bike, but you get just enough assist to ride every day then its the bike for you. If you ride everywhere on eco then there is absolutely no point in dragging...

Not unusual for something to be loose or broken from new. Check that there's nothing between spokes and cassette that could be catching, if not pull off the freehub and check if the pawls or springs are showing any signs of damage.
Use the climb switch, that's what its for! All suspension systems are a compromise, if its super plush down hill then it'll be a bit crap at climbing and vice versa. You can improve your skills to reduce pedal strikes but they are just a fact of life, and will always be there.
