About 20 miles year round, in winter with snow I often strap my extra battery on. With fat tire bikes 8psi is common in the winter so if I want to climb and do 20÷ miles I need the extra juice.
Use this in the summer, never had the phone come loose riding but came off once in a fall but in snow and no damage. Put phone in a pocket when it gets cold, can't beat Ram mounts for durability.
I have 2 of these on the bar, they are cheep and put out a lot of light. Put a solid winter on them and still going strong. At 28 bucks if one craps out I'll just get another. They are good for a 2 to 3 hour ride if you don't run on high, but with 2 you have an advantage. Have never run one...
Don't use wax type oils in cold weather, not good! Been there done that.
It just builds up on the derailleur cogs and actually stiffens up the chain such that it wont shift properly.
I've tried just about everything out there, mostly because I'll run out and buy whatever I can find wherever I'm...
I usually get positive comments, perhaps because at 65 I'm a little long in the tooth.
My usually comment is, "rode them acoustic bikes over 30 years, this beast triples the fun factor and it's easy on my old knees".
When approaching riders on assent I just hang back tell they see me, and they...
Installed the SpeedBox 2 on my Haibike Full FatSix 10.0 a couple weeks ago, works as advertised.
It's nice not hitting the 20mph wall and being able to cook on the flats and long gentle downhills.
The install was plug and play, don't think you can hook it up wrong; all the connectors are...
If you want cheep, here's my $15 stand made from a 1.5" pipe clamp attached to a bench vice. Gets the rear wheel off the ground so I can lub the chain or do just about anything. If I want more hight I flip the vise. Got the idea online just modified some think the plans called for mounting...
When I get home from a ride I plug the battery in, then next day or whenever I get around to it I'll unplug it.
I think it's best to have the battery full charged a all times, internal chips monitor battery health and lot of other stuff.
Like someone early stated, don't overthink it.
When I...
500Wh works for me in the Summer, when snow flies added power becomes the norm and an extra 500Wh goes on my post rack. Snow really drags you down and the cold zaps power from your battery, a cover helps on the discharging battery to keep the heat generated with the battery.
Ride On!
Current chatter with respect to Watt hours per kilogram is the current standard or achievable density of 250 Wh/Kg to 400 Wh/Kg is anticipated in the next couple years. That would be a huge increase in the power to weight ratio not only for ebikes but EVs as well.
Your probable right with respect to pinch flats on standard MTB tires running tubes, thing is I ride a 4” Fat Tire bike nearly 100% of the time now and all year round; pinch flats are non-excitant and I ride over a ton of roots; I hate roots! Winter tire PSI is down to 7 or 8, low tire pressure...
Thousands of miles on the Bosch Gen3, have tested the Brose and Bosch Gen4, currently have about 700miles on a Haibike Full Fatsix 10.0 with WR-X2, the Yamaha rocks!
Yea, I'm a boomer....Ride on!
