As far as I know, the EP801 already had a more "aggressive" power delivery compared to the CX5 (the assist definitely hits 400%). Not sure if Shimano will take the same route -meaning a software update- but... I doubt they're just sitting on their hands ;) . Let's see what they come up with!

No upgrade has been announced yet for the SX, but I don't think you'll have any issues mounting the Kiox 400C - as long as your frame has the right mount. Just remember, it needs to be installed by an authorized Bosch dealer, since the motor and controller need to be paired together.

Cube has included a compatibility indicator on the site with the 100nm upgrade, and as I imagined, all CX5-equipped bikes turn out to be compatible regardless of drivetrain and wheels/hubs used (edit: those with internal hub gear will have the upgrade but limited to 90nm)

With the new CX5 update, yes - they'll be on par in terms of torque, power, and assist percentage. The differences will be that it’s lighter (about 150g less thanks to more refined materials) and it will feature the RACE mapping, which is exclusive to the race versions.
