    Dead AXS seatpost fixed?

I had a similar thing with my AXS, although mine was 9 month old with less than 300 miles on it. Put it into it's storage location with a fully charged and working battery. Took it out the next day and nothing. No lights on the post and no movement. Tried wiggling and replacing the battery...

Tell me why (motor drag content)

You could also be suffering for what I called Motor Blindness. I too felt exactly the same when I was on the road trying to pedal past 15.5mph on my new emtb. It felt like once past the motor assistance, there was a huge amount of treacle holding me back. To my surprise, this same treacle got...

SRAM 12-Speed - Cannot set it up properly?!

If it was al working ok and now isn't, with no modifications or swap outs, something has either broken or been bent. Hanger is main culprit. Had this so many times with bikes I look after, despite owners swearing they had not dropped, crashed or otherwise had a scenario where it would likely...

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

Thanks for the kind words. DVD player - not had one of them for 10+ years :ROFLMAO:

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

Thought I'd update this in case anybody is interested. Have a couple of weeks off work so set to the bike storage. After buying the awning thing mentioned above for £65 from Amazon, I looked into a load of options for the frame. Went from made to measure oak timber sections (£800+), to...

Looks like others have fallen for the post before checking the date, as I did.

First ebike 6k what are you guys riding

I'd imagine pretty much any bike that runs 29X2.6 could run 27.5 x 2.8 but, I'd question why on an ebike? Not because plus tyres are out of fashion, more because they are just not needed and don't really offer anything to an electric assisted bike. I say this with experience as my non electric...

First month of real ebike riding - long winded summary to follow.

Hi all. No real point or question to this post, just rambling about my first months ownership. New here after only making the move to an ebike two months ago when the other half told me to 'just get one' as I looked over them yet again :D As a back story, I am 50 and have ridden bikes, mainly...

Is falling off a new emtb always going to happen?

Haha. You don’t want pictures of me in Lycra - 30 years ago maybe but not now. :ROFLMAO: it was the shorts really I suppose but, can’t help feel on my normal bike I’d have just unclipped and stopped. The ebike had already surged off thanks to my input so I’ll blame that. Lol. Have a water...

Is falling off a new emtb always going to happen?

I gave up being bothered about scratches since my 3 day old Zaskar LE frame was gouged by some barbed wire wrapped around a rock it fell onto whilst being leant against a door. Now they are just battle scars, although I sometimes have to double check after loud rock strikes on carbon down...

Is falling off a new emtb always going to happen?

Having ridden bikes and mtbs in particular for the last 30+ years, now approaching 51 with more damaged body parts from the early years of riding than I care to mention, I have returned to my youth and crashed again! This time it was a slow speed comedy of errors on my new ebike but, it has...

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

Not quite as much trouble as man handling the thing up 3 flights of stairs and 6 corners to get the the bedroom ;)

    Trance X E + 1 flip chip. Nightmare.

I swapped my 2022 Trance X E+ 1 from high to low whilst the bike was up on a stand. Relatively painless and needed a bit of rear end wiggle to get the chips seated but nothing major. If doing it outside, I'd be temped to find a tree or similar to hook the seat over and get the rear wheel off...

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

:D If it was solely me living here, the dining room would be bike room, alas.....

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

I've just ordered one of the above side pull awnings. Plan is to make a frame with the front corner rounded so the awning will pull around it and then hook onto the wall at the back. This allows the awning to effectively create 2 of the side panels. The back doesn't matter and the left hand...

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

Hi Steve, funnily enough I have just found side pull awnings which are essentially the same thing. Could make the frame work to overlap so the only gap as such is at the bottom. Seems to do what is needed for a fraction of the money. DKIEI Garden Side Awning Sunshade Screen Panel Retractable...

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

Seems others don't share my desire for not having bikes on show :D It will be in the dining room and in view of passers by, hence the need for an enclosure of sorts. Plus WAF to keep the peace. I think I'll be making an wooden box frame with black (ish) top and removable oak coloured panels...

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

It hasn't been a hassle for the 15 years we've had this house and bikes ;) The storage area isn't too far from the back door and all the floors etc are tiled, so in reality it isn't a problem as bikes are washed after muddy rides.

Storage of ebike in house - hidden in a cabinet?

I can't store my new emtb with the other bikes as it is too heavy to manoeuvre into the space, so am thinking of making some form of cabinet to place along a flat wall and hide the bike inside. I have the wall space and the know how to build such a thing, just wondered if anybody has done it...

New to both Emtbs and the forum - Hi.

Hi all. Some may know the user name from a few other forums and SingletrackWord in particular but thought I'd introduce myself here properly as a newb both to the forum and emtb's. After 30+ years of riding non electric bikes (sorry, I refuse to call them analogue 😂 ), at the age of 50 and...
