Bent derailleur hanger possibly. A friend had a similar issue and a new hanger fixed it. Looking at your pics it maybe doesn't look straight?

Eco usually only when riding with friends on analogue bikes. Mostly use tour upping to turbo for a bit when when I need a 'break'. Have been trying to get used to emtb mode recently but I struggle with the unpredictability of it. Maybe I'll get used to it one day!

Never used Recon's myself but from what I've heard they should be more supple than the x-fusion's. Recon's are also pretty easy to DIY service. If you're confident buying 2nd hand, a Rockshox Reba can be had for less than a (new) pair of Recon's.

I've been to Pines a number of times now, usually do the red route twice with one lap hitting the bike park also. Will keep an eye out here, would love to learn some of the off-piste stuff there 👍
