Rail (625Wh) Trek Rail 7 Gen 2, 625, alum frame...

Curious how much life this bike has left in it (specifically the motor and battery). Rider is 68 yrs old. Has 1350 miles. Only ridden on dry trails. 5% ECO, 50% Tour, 45% ETMB, 0% Turbo. Ride in rough terrain, but only weigh 140 lbs. Bike has only been stored overnight with 100% charge...

    Rail (750Wh) Battery life question...

My Rail 7 Gen 2 (1100 miles, 2 years old) battery seems to not be holding a charge as well as it did. Any input on quantitatively checking it out? If a new battery is needed, is there a less expensive aftermarket option? Any input appreciated. THANKS! Andrew C

Rail (625Wh) Rail 7, chain ring nut came loose

No big deal, but after owning it for 1.5 years, 850 miles, I'd thought it prob wouldnt come loose on its own. Hopefully the blue Loctite will help. Rode it 25 miles yesterday, and still tight.

Rail (750Wh) Expected to find 3 pawls in freehub (based on what I read here and there), but has 6.

Yesterday I removed and serviced the freehub on both my: Rail 7, and Fuel EX8 g5. Both had the identical freehub, and both have 6 pawls, so obviously I was wrong. Sorry for the marginal pic... not grit in pic, fresh grease sparkling in the light I suppose. Post cleanup, about to install...

    Other Chasing a "creak" noise

I have three Treks; Rail 7 G2, EX 8 G5 and the current offering EX 8 G6. Absolutely love my Rail, and it has been flawless for about 150 hours now. On both my Rail 7 and EX 8 G5, I had the usual creaks and squeaks, however with a little cleaning and lubing of pivots, those were all easily...

    Rail (750Wh) 50 miles...

There is an upcoming race, 50 miles, five 10 mile laps. Yesterday I pre-rode three laps, (30 miles). Started with full charge, ended with 2 dots of batt left :(. Rode in Tour, only. Seems it will be close, as to whether I can finish the event. Thoughts?

Rail (750Wh) Did the "50 hour service" on my Rail rear shock, Rockshox Deluxe Select +

Shock had been leaking oil, past the seal, from the negative pressure side. I realize that most of them do leak. Bought the rebuild kit from SRAM. It was easy peasy. Interesting that functionally it is pretty much identical to the AER air fork on my KTM's. Test rode it yesterday and it is...

Rail (750Wh) Love my Rail 7...

I absolutely love my Rail 7, Gen 2. Nothing fancy, but OMG it is so much fun. In my area (Dallas Texas), for every Rail owner, there are 10-15 Levo owners. Don't know why, as there are way more Trek dealers around here, than Specialized dealers. Any idea why? Also, I know this is hardly the...

Rail (625Wh) Rail 7 Gen 2, 625 WH battery questions...

Last week I was all set to order a Rail 7 Gen 2 (2022 I think) (M) from my LBS (Trek Store) come Monday. However over the weekend I read a few reviews, and also found this forum (THANK GOSH, y'all are truly Subject Matter Experts, willing to share your knowledge). Questions... What are the odds...

Rail (625Wh) Considering a new Rail 7, Gen 2, Medium, Dark gray.

New member here. Thank you for including me. 66yrs, avid mtn biker, have Fuel EX 8, Gen 5. Questions on the Rail 7 Gen 2. Although the bike will be new, it is considered a 2022 as I understand. 1 - Will this bike have the latest Bosch CX motor? 2 - The 625 WH motor seems "small" compared to...

I was excited to find this forum as using FB to gain/share knowledge is, well, not always productive. I am a 20+ year member of the KTMTalk forum, in which I am very active. Thanks again!
