Transporting bike on outside of car options

I've done a quick search, there are a several threads on this but most are a few years old now and I'm wondering if there are new options. I've got a small car (fabia) and it's becoming tiresome getting the bike in and out of it, especially when it's caked in mud! So I'm looking into options...

    Replacement brake disc

I managed to bend my rear brake disc at BPW at the weekend, I've had a go at straightening it but it's a centre lock Shimano ice-tech with the cooling fins, so it's tricky getting it straight. I can pick up another one for around £40 at the moment but I'm wondering if there are any other brands...

Bosch cx gen 4 523001 error

At BPW for the weekend and typically the bikes throw up an error, 523001 speed sensor error. I've checked the magnet and connectors into the kiox and remote, all seem okay. Is there anything else to check? Other than that is it a warranty job 😔

    Budget 29" front wheel

I'm considering converting to a mullet set up so I'm after a 29" boost front wheel, ideally with centre lock. Anyone upgraded their wheels and got a front going spare?

Wrist pain. Does bar rotation make a difference? (Update + back sweep)

After getting my cube 160 with it's stock carbon bars I was getting pains in my wrist, mostly after riding and then for the following days. I swapped out for some 50mm rise alloy bars and they have helped a lot, I also much prefer the higher bar position for my style of riding, but I'm still...

    Body armour, so much choice

I'm slowly starting to progress at bike parks and more advanced trails, I'm also not getting any younger and don't bounce as well as I used to. To keep the better half happy I think some protection would be a good idea. So I'm after some body armour for bike park use and want a decent level of...

    Aggressive hardtail emtb

I'm fairly new to mountain biking and like a lot of people it seems I started on an old hardtail that I put some time and money into restoring, took it to bike park Wales on my first every trip to a bike park and loved every second of it. I spent 6 months on it and then moved on to a full sus...

    Bosch battery retaining tab broken

Stereo hybrid 160, 22 model. On a ride the other week I noticed a rattling sound coming from the bike which progressively got worse throughout the ride. I nursed it home where I could take a better look and discovered the battery tray had come loose. Common issue that was easily resolved by...

    Steering knock blocks

Had a slight off during the week and managed to twist the handlebars off centre. I loosened the stem bolts and put the bars back straight but when turning the knock blocks are off centre restricting turning in one direction. I want to drop the forks out and correct this, has any one done this...

    Tyre wear

After getting back from a day's riding at Rogate bike park I was giving the bike a wash down and noticed my rear tyre was looking a bit worse for wear. It's a soft compound big Betty on my new cube stereo hybrid 160. I've only ridden 300 miles total so far. I went to bike park Wales last week...

    What bars do you run?

Following on from the what saddle and grips do you run (thanks for all the suggestions on that, went with wtb saddle and ergon grips in the end) I'm interested in what bars every one is running. Do you like high rise, low, wide, narrow or anything in-between? I'm currently running the carbon...

What grips and saddle do you run?

I recently picked up some fabric grips and swapped them out for the stock cube ones that come with the bike. Went out last night but I'm finding that they feel thinner in diameter than the cube grips which I'm not so keen on. I think I'd prefer a chunkier grip. So what do people use and...

Shock Trunnion bolt alternatives? +warning to others

Hey all, I needed to remove the shock on my new cube stereo for inspection. When trying to remove the trunnion bolts I discovered they where extremely tight. Eventually I managed to get one out and found they are thread locked in, and they made from alloy and not steel. When trying to remove...

    Fox float X rattle

I've had my stereo hybrid 160 for just over two weeks now and loving it, It's my first full sus Ebike but being new to them I'm wondering if something is amiss with the amount it rattles. I've read the Bosch motor can rattle, as can the battery in the frame. Tonight this video was uploaded...

    Newmen wheels tubeless

Hey all I noticed on the Newmen evolution wheels that the profile is round with no flat where the valve stem comes through. Has anyone set them up tubeless and did the round profile cause any issues with the stem not sealing? What valves did you use? I like the tubeless Numark Schrader valves...

    EMTB Insurance, Who has it?

Soon to purchase my first EMTB and it's a significant amount of money, thinking it might be wise to get some insurance but from what I've read there are a lot of rules and stipulations that must be met. Mainly looking for theft cover but accidental damage could be good as well, I'm totally...

What EMTB would you get for 5k?

hey all Looking at getting my first EMTB and would appreciate your thoughts. I'm after a full fat trail/Enduro bike, and after much deliberation I think I'm settled on the Bosch gen 4 motor (unless you can convince me otherwise) with a max budget of £5500. Being new to the EMTB scene and with...
