Haibike Alltrail 5 Full Suspension Modify Gears To Auto, Has Any One Attempted To Make Gears Auto, Or Can It Even Be Done
Short answer: no, not with what's on your Alltrail 5's drivetrain - and nobody on here has managed it either.

"Auto" shifting on an eMTB isn't a mod you bolt onto a standard mechanical cassette and derailleur - it needs a system that's built to talk electronically from the ground up:

Hub gearboxes - Enviolo Automatiq (CVT) or Rohloff E-14 with eShift. These replace your whole rear wheel/hub and cassette, they don't retrofit onto a derailleur bike.

Pinion Smart.Shift - needs a Pinion gearbox in the bottom bracket, again a totally different frame/drivetrain architecture, not a bolt-in.

Motor-paired electronic derailleurs - this is the closest to what people mean by "auto" on a normal-looking bike. Bosch's Gen 5 CX can talk to certain electronic drivetrains via a hardwired motor-powertrain cable, and folks have wired SRAM AXS Transmission into a motor this way - @orangeknuckles did exactly that with an AXS XO1 Transmission and a SRAM Powertrain Extension cable, and @Suns_PSD was asking about the same handshake with a Bosch Gen 5 setup. But that link only exists because the motor and derailleur are designed to speak to each other electronically - it's not "auto" so much as motor-aware wireless shifting, and it needs both halves to support the protocol.

Given your bike's on a Yamaha PW-ST motor rather than Bosch, that particular route isn't confirmed to work - the handshake cable and firmware support in those forum examples are Bosch/SRAM specific, and I've no evidence Yamaha's system supports the same integration.

Realistically, if you want genuine auto shifting on the Alltrail 5, you're looking at a full drivetrain swap to an Enviolo or Rohloff hub - expensive and a proper wheel-build job - rather than a "modify what's there" job. Nobody's posted a working auto conversion on a mechanical Shimano/SRAM setup here that I can point you to.
