Had the bike a couple of weeks now.

It's my first emtb and I chose the bike not the motor, not going lie though I was happy it was coming with the m2s.

Started mountain biking in 2000, mainly XC due to my local area being pretty flat, although lots of enduro in Wales over the last 10 years, was worried about the weight of a full power bike but so far I been able to throw it round no problem, and the handling is excellent so felt comfortable on the bike from the first ride.

The power is mad, but I'm loving it, rode scramblers in the 90s and this is bringing it all back. I'll definitely be winding it in, probably copy the new orbea wild settings as far as possible, hopefully the new parameters trickle down to the non RS versions. For now I've got enough to get my head around getting used to having a motor at all. And, being used to the weight of a motorbike the Athy weighs nothing.

I was on the fence for many years, I accepted eebs as a different sport and just thought I'd join in when I turned 60, but recently a mate who's 10 years younger reminded me you only live once, so here I am smashing round on a grin machine.

V. quiet, both up and down, could ride with a friend on an MTB and they wouldn't noticeably hear the motor. Seems silent except at 120nm and above. No noise downhill, long may that last, my mate still complains about the rattle on his gen 4 Bosch motor every other ride I see them...

Safe to say, whilst I have no comparison, the bike is amazing. The Atherton team know how to make a bike, and now I get to enjoy that on the way up as much as the way down.
Thanks for the taking the time to write this up

Just got a "sometime second half of august" for delivery of mine from Atherton today. Apparently, mine us number #171.
Won't be too long now hopefully. 🤞

I'm #158 and last week I was told early August.

I believe batch 3 starts at #150 which they've started.
batch 2 has apparently been completed last week 😎

I'm still hunting for owner reviews, there isn't many about yet..
Only a few here in these threads - which greatly appreciated.

The anticipation - I can't wait.

Sat at Mach waiting to collect mine. Was hoping I could pick it up today as part of a detour home from the Alps. 13:30 tomorrow is the time they have given me.
Cut my knee up at Crans Montana so won’t be riding here. Will be a more sedate run back at home.

I'm not going to a put a like on that! Hope you are OK? Enjoy your first ride!

Strange how you couldn't just pick it up, especially if it's been sitting ready for a while..

Hope you're not too badly injured, we just don't bounce back up again from an off anymore these days 🤣.. Speedy recovery and enjoy your new bike

It was strange, they delayed a couple of weeks back when I wanted the bike to take on my Alps trip. As soon as I was away they wanted me to pick it up sooner. Set a date for today so I could ride the park straight after collection which was ok. I rang them yesterday seeing if I could collect early as I was already in town and they said it would be better for them if it could be delayed a bit.
After explaining I had made a big detour across to Wales on my return journey to collect a time of 13:30 has been set. Will see if it is ready then. At least it’s nice weather to be sitting about waiting!

Knee/leg is knitting back together ok. Cannot afford to burst it open again as back to work in Africa next week.

I have it!!

Ok, mine is a size 9, level 2 build and the weight out of the factory with a set of OneUp wave pedals is 24.5kg.
Stack seems really high, will be interesting to compare against my Decoy when I get it out of the van.
Have to decide whether to have a couple of rides with the bike standard or just start putting on the box full of shiny bits.

mine is a size 12, also 165 cranks
one thing to note, it won't (probably) have any sealant in the tyres so check that.
Also OEM fork doesn't come with the mudguard, so I had to order one separately.

The power modes are mad, I have turned down trail loads,

Just had a quick 1km run this morning using auto which was a cool mode.
Like you I’ll be turning the levels down.
I’m really interested to see how far it will go on similar settings to the e8000 as the Shimano motor is supposed to be pretty thirsty.
Thinking about putting some film on the underside of the downtube above the rubber strip as it looks a bit vulnerable.

Atherton put up a video on their website in the last week or so detailing steps needed to unpack and setup - for sure, sealant is needed.
