Pic of the Day

I didn’t recognize the location but I suspected the foot-hills between Alberta and BC. There’s some altitude there with a great view.

In our area the indigenous people strip the bark of cedar trees (100-200 yrs old). The bark strips are then rolled up and later used. The procedure doesn’t harm the cedar tree and over time they heal and can create a cat-face. The strips are usually 15-25’ long.

They choose small random areas 15-20 trees and use, I assume, for ceremonial purposes.
Yes, just in the Alberta foothills outside of Calgary.

A fantastic day with sun and birds chirping but then I was stopped by an older lady with an indefinable mood who didn't like anyone cycling where she was walking so she told me about how irresponsible cyclists were but when I said that I wasn't responsible for others and whether she thought I wasn't paying attention when I came cycling at around 10 km/h the discussion was over. Ended the trip with porridge topped with strawberries, apples, caramelsauce and iced latte with lots of caramelsaus.

Hopefully your digestive system was still working well after all those encounters. 😉

No problem I follow doctors advice.
Oatmeal:
This is a good source of fiber, and oats also absorb a lot of water which helps with digestion. Bonus: Oatmeal can also help reduce LDL (the bad cholesterol) and provides you with complex carbohydrates, protein, calcium and iron.

Yeah, but neither eating nor drinking is a solution! Wanna talk about it to feel better? 😉

Apologies for making fun. In my county a draft for a revision of a law for entering forests and using paths for leisure has been released these days for comments by interested parties. It likely will not be passing as it is written today as otherwise bikers may not be allowed to use paths narrower than 10 (ten) ft. 😳 Main reason for enforcement is illegal trail building and rude behavior of some bikers when passing hikers. As well as protecting the not very extensive forests in highly populated areas. Can understand it to a certain point but would hit me hard if not being allowed anymore to ride my usual tracks. 😕

I eat, drink what and when I want weather it's meat or vegetarian food.
As long as I like it I put it in the mouth.
I just follow Norwegian laws and regulations and use common sense. Sometimes I meet people in the woods who ask me if I'm allowed to ride a bike, and then I answer that it should have been forbidden, but I just follow the law, and then they suddenly run out of time and stroll on 😂

If I'm hungover, I cycle to a beauty salon and get vitamin drips right into my veins, apparently the new thing according to the highest paid influencers🙄

I've heard about this—if it comes to that, it would be really unfortunate:eek:.
We absolutely have to support the DIMB.
Here in BW, the 2-meter rule is already in effect. Unfortunately, we have to argue with hikers almost every day about whether it’s actually safe to ride there, even though the path is definitely wide enough, I slow down to walking pace, and I make sure to alert them to my presence in plenty of time.
I hope it doesn’t come to that where you are.
I’ve actually already thought about moving to Bavaria because of this;)

We have two metre rule on roads it's a pain when a car is sitting behind you for a long time some are terrible other's nearly hit you. We just got 20 mph signs in town whoever makes signs must be making a fortune. Some roads 20 some 30 no wonder people get confused. Rant over

Still not able to ride at the moment after my OTB in early March. Still getting out with plenty of local walks.
This morning on a packed bank holiday at Druridge Bay, Northumberland. Me, my good lady and my son’s dog Colin. IMG_1666.webpIMG_1665.webpIMG_1664.webp

An absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to start the day.

Its like the maintenance cost is now built into the cost of a trail. Back a while ago there was the cost to build the trail and the trail builders knew that had a 1yr warranty period to make it 100%.

in 2010 $50k would have built 10km of trail, now that shit would be swallowed by feasibility studies, advocacy and planning. Now, $50k would build probably 2km.
