Bosch Flow 1.34 features

Has anyone had any luck importing Bosch Flow generated .FIT files into Garmin Connect..?
Importing .fit files from the Bosch Flow app into Garmin Connect works but the result is not very useful.
  1. the Bosch .fit file classifies the ride as 'ebike ride', which works with Strava but not with Garmin. Garmin expects 'biking' and imports the activity as 'other' which removes some of the typical biking figures, like rider performance. If you have a bike configured as standard equipment in Garmin, this will also not connect to the imported activity
  2. the cadence data is recorded in a non-standard way in the Bosch .fit file, there is only an entry when the cadence value changes but many missing values for constant cadence. This imports into Garmin as a sort of staccato cadence constantly jumping between zero and the correct value
The best way to get your data into Garmin is going to GOTOES | Strava Tools and repairing the .fit file there. Then import the repaired file to Garmin and all is well.

Bosch offers no linking to Garmin, only Strava and Komoot are supported.
I might be confused or forgotten how i've done it, but my flow app feeds through to Strava & Garmin Or does it? (Dont get old. I'm sure I linked it)

I’ve not seen anyway to link flow to Garmin.

There’s also no way to get Strava to update Garmin, not without a 3rd party app such as RunGap to act in between.

Now that the activity in flow saves hr data, when putting the fit file from flow through gotes, does it also contain the hr data? So effectively all gotoes is doing is repairing the poorly formatted Bosch fit file.

I used to merge the hr data from Apple Watch activity for file with the Bosch fit file in gotoes to get one complete fit file but in the end got fed up as it would never calculate stop time correctly.

Yes, gotoes will repair the format and do nothing else. They identify the files coming from Bosch Flow and run them through a special repair routine they programmed some time ago. Fully transparent to the user and works good. Only make sure to change the sport from ebike ride to biking when you plan to import the repaired file to Garmin.

Try again. The site and some of the repair tools had a recent overhaul. I successfully merge the Bosch .fit file with the activity file exported from HealthFit. This second file contains the full HR stream from my Apple Watch even though the Bosch Display does not update the heart rate continuously every ride.

The settings I use are: all the streams from the Bosch file including speed and only heart rate from HealthFit. No distance calculation and use embedded speed from the file. This works for me.

I'm on Flow 1.34.7 (1131) and using a Kiox 300. As always, the Kiox pairs successfully with my chest HRM and displays my HR whilst riding. At the end of the ride there is no recorded HR visible in Flow, and therefore not uploaded to Strava.
I've just opened a ticket with Bosch...... but since that I've seen this thread.

There’s an additional setting for flow to save hr data. Make sure that’s enabled. Maybe be wasn’t but since enabling it my hr data is now saved.

Unsure if that is sent to Strava though as I don’t sync flow to Strava.

Can you tell where that is please.

In the Flow app: Profile -> Account -> Activity Tracking. There is a second button now to enable heart rate saving.

The saved heart rate data will transfer to Strava. I have set Strava as a connected service in the Flow app, so my rides automatically show up in Strava.

Thank you so much. I can see it now you've told me. It wasn't a big deal as I record my rides primarily on my Garmin Explore 2 and have both the Garmin and Flow connected to Strava. But I wanted to fix this long awaited "fix" from Bosch. Anyway, again, thanks a lot.

Latest update — jump tracking working beautifully ;)
