Why unreal? Rumors had them (and everyone else) releasing an avinox powered bike.

Unreal….

Wow, someone on one of the threads here mentioned this bike would be dropping soon, and I expressed some skepticism since the new Shuttle LT dropped less than 2 months ago with a Bosch motor. I owe that man an apology!

I wonder if the different motor spec is indicative of how long they've been working on each of the Shuttle bikes, or if they for some reason think Avinox is better for shorter travel applications and Bosch for longer travel ones. If they thought that the Avinox is better overall, I would have figured they would have switched the Shuttle LT over to it, unless there was some sort of "point of no return" with cutting the molds, and they were just a little too late to switch at that point. I can't think of a reason why they'd prefer the different motors for different travel brackets, other than if there was a battery capacity concern on the new Avinox motor, but I guess we'll find out more about that 1 week from today.

My immediate thought would be some sort of obligation tied to Bosch.

With Pivot officially boarding the Avinox wagon...Bosch might be in for a little ride.

My understanding based on an interview I watched is that it's because the Avinox motors are not legal in E-EWS. So the race bike gets the Bosch.

It's better overall for sales. The skinnier downtube full powered Avinox will outsell the rest of their lineup combined.

Maybe they'll be able to reuse the same rear triangle.

That never even occurred to me, but it would make sense. Not sure if different UCI sanctioned events have different motor rules, but Teewing does sponsor a team that is doing some high profile races, presumably with the Avinox motor:

I found a picture of it. :p:p:p

It's the new M2 motor and bigger (but not 900) battery. I just bought the Shuttle LT knowing this was coming. I still don't get the Avinox hype. I've done loads of miles on an AmFlow, and it's a great system, but genuinely and objectively no better than the latest Bosch G5 (G4.1). The power is totally unnecessary if you still want to pedal and work, there's still no range extender on either M1 or M2, and the M1 rattles.
Totally happy with my 21kg Shuttle LT which can be widely adjusted into different bikes, with the reliable, traction-rich, equally light G5 motor. Plus, I switch between 600 and 800 and 800+RE depending on the day out.
The Amp'd has a more handsome silhouette, but other than that, Shuttle LT all day long for me.
Style of bike first, Geometry preference next, Looks third, then the motor now becomes a qualifier, as all the motors are now superb.
Happy trails all 👍🏻

Congrats! NBD is the best. I was lined up to demo the new Shuttle LT and had to cancel 😭. Begrudgingly, I still havent ridden the cx5, or Avinox for that matter.

The Amflow bikes took forever to make their way to the States, which helped make it become even more desirable. Avinox was like that smoking hot girl thats sending you signals, but her boyfriends name is Deebo, and he dont play no shit!! Well now Deebo got knocked the fug out, and everyone is about to ride his girl!!

Im currently living in NW Florida, aka, lower Alabama, and have to drive 3-4 hours north every time I want to do any real gravity riding. Because of this, I want the bike that can get me back to the top as fast as possible. At 46 yrs young, I feel like I need to put in as many hot laps now, while I still can.

Hopefully the rattle has been resolved on the new M2S. Otherwise, I might end up wishing I had held out and bought the same bike as you 😬

I would hate to get on the wrong side of a cyclopath, but Im afraid I must if i am to maintain the integrity of my lane in this fine freedom loving forum. - For I would say the opposite is true: reliability and power of the motor is paramount to me! Second would be a pleasing looking bike for I'd be more inclined to ride it if it were looking good, baby!. I was always gifted in geometry at school, and it is surely important that a bike's the proper shape and size? But if it were not, then i'd have to put the seat up? Lastly, the style of bike, which i confess means hardly anything to me! But I do prefer a stylish one to another that has none! I do not mean to disagree as it is merely a morning blather for me, so much could change this afternoon, or even after tea!

I’m looking forward to a demo on this, avinox smoothness with pivot quality is a tempting combo. I’m not sure it will tempt me away from my AM, but you never know.

High Rock Ruti

I was lucky enough to attend the "Turkey Afterburner" at Hale Reservation in Westwood MA. USA

Local bike shops with demo's. Amflow, Santa Cruz, Specialized and Pivot. The Pivot am out rode them all. That DJI motor is a sweety, the Amflow not so much. Sounds like 26 is "going to be a good year".
That's from the Who's Tommy Rock opera.

Warm Regards Ruti

You won't long for any more power than the CXR can give. Genuinely. Anything more is totally unnecessary IMHO.
Enjoy either way, each to their own, few bad bikes and even fewer bad motors now.
Personally, I'm most keen to see the Maxon Air Drive S on some production bikes. Full power, and 16-18kg. Now we're talking.

lol I like your reply buddy 👍🏻
By 'style of bike' I mean that it's important to get the type of bike best suited to 95% of your riding. Too many people with LT bruisers when they'd have way more fun on a shorter travel more nimble eeb.
As for reliability, not much to choose between the latest motors now, so for me, again that has become an entry ticket and something we should now expect as standard.
Thus why to me, it's then down to geo, look, and personal preference.
For me, the Avinox offers me nothing I want over and above the Bosch CX-R G5.
As in my last post just now, the only motor I'm curious about still is the Maxon Air Drive S. Full power, much lighter, and tiny form factor, so eebs with these are already getting down to 16-18kg, granted with a 400wh battery initially.

Do you have a different bracket/mount for the 600 battery?

Yes, Pivot have them in stock. Took about 2 mins to fit to the battery, and 5mins more to pop in the bike, and away we went, and 1kg weight lost! All I need for many rides. Running two different rear shocks too, one Float X chocked down to ~152mm, and the other an Ext Storia V4 coil at the full 160mm+.
Superb bike.

Seems to me there’s a significant group of people who focus way more on downtube size than geo or style of bike. It’s tough to respect. Feels so poser.

If all other things with equal, I'd like a smaller, more analogue bike-like silhouette. But, I'd still go function over form for now.
The Maxon has great potential to produce bikes like the Propain Sresh, but with full power, silent drive. Near utopia I'd say.

Do I even want to know what that new Pivot will cost?

I was certain I was going to get a new Amflow, but then Pivot went a fukced it all up with that new rig.

I have never ridden, let alone owned, an e-bike, but I'm prepared to spend whatever it takes to get the one I'll be proud to throw my leg over for the next several years...

I prioritize battery size/range first and foremost, then looks (I admit it), I just assume both are going to ride amazing... so I can't wait to see the new Avinox offerings. Come on April 9th!!!!
