The new XT di2 with short cage mech and 9-45 cassette looks like a good option for ebikes. Less chain length, smaller mech, lighter cassette.
Sadly it’s not available with the motor connector to give power to the mech in this flavour.
No real info or official stuff but my Forbidden dealer let me in that it's coming with the revised Avinox unit that will have higher peak Power and Torque.That would be rad. Is there a thread or any info out about it yet? Just heard rumors...
Thinking to grab a Crestline when the pre-sale opens up and then sell it if the E-Dread materializes before it shows up.
E-Dread would check almost all my boxes for sure. Only misses would be no frameset option and (likely) no 29" rear option (im tall).

Any truth to the rumor that the Druid Lite will be discontinued in ‘26? If so, I hope they offer a 600 and 800 battery option on both bikes.![]()
If I go down the short cage 10spd group set option, I think I would miss the 9/10T more than the top end. Even still I don’t think I need the 45T & a tightly packed 12spd cassette. I’d rather benefit from a thicker 10spd chain & save a chunk of weight.
Id miss the use of T-Type, but its a sacrifice I think I would make.
Maybe is not as important to others, but losing the shifting while coasting and the brief motor detune while shifting is a good reason to keep Transmission. Being able to shift before I start pedaling while going downhill and have the chain on the right sprocket when I needed without shifting like mad at the start of the hill is a very nice plus.I run 11 speed on 2 bikes including my Relay. The SRAM X01 11 speed is an all steel cassette, 10-42, durable, and shockingly light. It also takes an incredible beating. Mine sucked up a huge branch and was totlly fine after I wrectled it out. It's best to run an X01 Eagle 12 speed chain on the SRAM 11 speed as they are more durable and narrower, which improves shifting.
But I've ridden it back to back to Transmission, and it doesn't shift as well as Transmission. I'd place Transmission a 10 vs. a 7 for the SRAM 11 speed, comparitively. My XTR is like an 8 on that scale.

Why would you not want the rollover of a 29" rear if you didn't have to worry about it buzzing your peach?It was a July promise that then switched to Aug-Oct. If the spray tan wankstain didn’t shut down the government, I would have had it in October.
@Blownoutrides Dreadnaught aka e-naughty is coming, I think my dealer said spring, but I didn’t commit to memory since I was getting Druid. Don’t understand need for 29er rear on an ebike even if you’re tall. My mountain bikes are 29er, e-bikes mullet.
There have been a few aftermarket crown manufacturers with more drop to the uppers but unfortunately all seem to have evaporated.
Others may disagree, obviously… It’s not a massive difference, but I prefer a 27.5 rear as preferable on descents — butt clearance, maneuverability and just more fun. Rollover, braking and tech climbing is marginally better with a 29er, but a motor evens most of that out — aside from braking contact patch. I am mullet curious though. Gonna borrow a wheel from a friend and see what shakes out on my V2 dread. I'll try anything twice.

I had a Wild 29/29 (rear center 454) for years, got used to it and was great. The Core is 29/27.5 (rear center 442) and there’s a huge difference in cornering, agility and “lightness” of the bike. I’m not going back to 29/29. I’m pretty sure e-dread will be mullet only. Crestline will give you both options.
Nice thats what's i wanted to know if it rode bigger than its specified travel. I have a druid v2 and it rides like a mini enduro. Not sure if I would be interested in the e-dread as im afraid the wheelbase would be too long.My previous emtb was a Wild Ltd with 170/160mm and 29er fr/rr. What rides I was able to get in this fall on my new CorE it definitely is more playful, rails corners like no other and definitely feels like it has more than 150mm rear travel on tap. Looking forward to some late winter early spring desert trips especially with the new Vorsprung Telum coil I just installed on the rear and the 170mm Zeb airshaft which will be going in one of these days.....

Curious if anyone knows if a 170mm zeb exceeds the a2c? Couldn't find anything on forbiddens website.

lol must have been the pink bike article complaining about the Avinox lacking on low torque cadenceGuys, there’s an update available: version 00.14.01.03. The support lag when the cadence drops is gone. Give it a try. If you find any other new features, please let us know.
I am from NZ. Always wary of updates haha. On another note I had an issue yesterday. We were about to start our Friday ride so I turned the bike on while standing beside it and it took off. I think it was the control button stuck down so it thought if was being asked to access walk mode. I grabbed the bike before it escaped and swung a leg over like I was mounting a wild horse pulled the brake on while my brain tried to comprehend what was happening. Hitting the down control switch had no affect but when I hit the up switch it calmed down. I completed the ride but only turbo mode was accessible which was fine as its my preferred anyway. After a reboot it seems everything is back to normal. Has anyone got any idea what might have happened. It felt like walk mode on steroids but my guess is that because the previous ride had been super wet and muddy that had interred with controller action but I'm not sure
Doesn't explain the bike taking off by itselfProbably got water in your controller, open it up and check the sticker under the battery. If it's red it's had water ingress and you'll not get a warranty replacement from them. White and you'll be sound![]()
