Not seeing Class 3 option after firmware update

Got my amflow today here in germany, paired using nordVPN (server in USA) on mobile data, all software up to date (device 00.12.0507, app v1.3.22) but no speed selection menu on bike. Goes by 20mph/33kmh per default which is sufficient and sligthly above my meatbike speed so i am fine with that. Besides that this bike isn't really build for higher speed with 34T*10T - i am constantly grinding the smallest cog on the rear which is a bit annoying. Guess i will try to slap a 38T onto the spider to reduce the strain on chain and cassette.

Hey anyone any solutions yet? I'm in the U.S., my amflow isn't seeing any speed limit options when scrolling up or down, I have the latest update.

It's kinda frustrated having it locked up @ 20mph.

Was your bike bought in the US, or imported? If it is US sourced, I'd get hold of Amflow support and see what they say.

Let us know what they say - quite a few of us want that functionality on non-US sourced bikes...

My bike hasn't arrived yet, but will set it the same like you, USA - 20mph. After the initial pairing, do you still need to use VPN everytime you go for ride or do only need to do this once? Thank you, Elliot. UK

You only need the phone paired (doesn't need the app running) to auto-unlock the bike.

Currently, you only need the VPN when you are doing the initial pairing of your phone to the bike, any changes after the pairing (changing assistance modes etc) don't need the VPN.

Mine was imported here to the US. Initial setup it was locked at 20mph. I also do not have the feature shown in the app to change speed.

Unpaired it. Repaired it using Hong Kong VPN and now its good to go 28mph!! Only have to do once. After that it is always unlocked to 28mph whether its connect to phone or not. App does not need to be connected either. One and done

Ok, this is odd. When I first got the bike (From Loomenade) it would go 28mph easily. At some point last week, something changed, and I had a slew of problems, eventually leading to turning off instantly after it powered up.
It also dropped to what felt like only getting just under 20mph Max.
I just did an update, (and finally figured out how to change the language, and there is no speed limit option on the display or app.
I’ll reach out to Loomenade and Avinox, but do any of you have any tips beyond what has been discussed?
Will I need an activated micro SD sim for this?
Or should I be able to do this through the App, if I have to clear everything, and start my registration over?
(Maybe Hong Kong VPN, but ai shouldn’t have to do that here in the U.S. with a U.S. purchased bike?
Thanks in advance, amigos!

I would delete and repair your phone. Should be straight forward
it would go 28mph easily
Unless you set it to class 3, 28 mph, it should not have ever gone that fast. You have to manually swtch it every time you power it up.

From Loomenade, authorized US dealer
YOU did not read, and they are not authorized or you would pay full price. posted very clear at their website, and amflow does not show them as a dealer in usa

NOTE: These are class 1 only bikes with a top speed of 20MPH, Please consult your local regulations for usage laws.

We have 400 miles of legal moto trails, there is no speed limit.

(as well as a ebike allowed bike park here in Jackson, the jumps are HUUUGGE. Some of them you really need to be going 35-40+ to clear correctly. This is just not really possible on this bike right now, you lose way too much momentum just hitting the faces of the jumps, which can be 15 feet high.)

I guess I just assumed that Loomenade was in the US . Oh, well.
I’ll get it sorted out. Since we are class 3 legal here, surely there must be a solution with a vpn or whatever. Again, if I have to go that route, do I need to get a prepaid sim for the controller?
(or I guess the VPN would be on my phone?)
Is there a free way to get a hong-Kong VPN, or whatever?

You can install NordVPN on your phone and subscribe. Then you have 3 days to cancel subscription before paying anything. I just found out that other VPN services not always work for derestriction, even NordVPN only works if you log into Hongkong, New Zeeland didn't work for me. I also didn't check if letting the RideApp using WLAN connection works for derestricting, but letting the app only connect via mobile data definitely did the trick for me last time. Please report back if everything still works as expected with the newest software updates.

It looks like Avinox are slowly identifying and blocking the use of VPN services - there have been reports on here that Privado / NordVPN etc worked before, but now do not allow region change to NZ...

Yeah Privado now doesn't work at all, tried their service with no luck.

Non sequitur. Matters not. You did not read. Your bike only does 20 because you bought the cheapo version from a non authorized dealer as you wanted to save money. No fault there, but they state clearly their bike only does 20

But as long as one purchases a US bike from an authorized dealer it will still do the 28 mph, correct?

I'm considering an emtb but the first few months it will be used on the road to aid in recovery of an upcoming surgery. Then, even after I get back on the trail, I ride the road to and from the trailhead where I easily do 28 mph on my analog bike if I didn't spin out with the 32t chainring.

stops assistance at 28.
Its hit and miss, many on my FB page are still running unlimited. I dont know of its a specific phone are setting that causes it, but some are still updated and unlimited. Lot of people cant follow the directions and videos have been posted of this issue from the start.

Is this where I'm supposed to explain how destricting threatens eMTB access to trails in the USA? It was hard enough to get access for class 1 bikes...

No it is not. I feel sorry for your kind

"My kind" is the kind who puts in lot of hours building and maintaining trails, showing up at public meetings, rallying support for increased access. "The other kind" is selfish f*ckfaces who think going 28 mph on multiuse trails will make their tiny peckers grow. Pedal harder.

See we do not have that garbage here. There is enough wild land for everyone, so i feel sorry for karens stuck in these liberal hell holes. I can go out and ride 30 miles and climb 4000', 4 times a week, and be lucky to see a few other riders, and maybe one runner and a few hikers. We all share the trail and are friendly. Its just you against the trail. Im lucky to see a single person on any given ride. Most days Im alone.

Why so slow :ROFLMAO:

lighten up karen

Funny I was talking with a ranger a few weeks back telling him i was going to run a closed section at race pace, he was all heck ya! have fun!

You need to realize not every geographic location has your problems. And on a yearly basis, i probably do as much trail work as you. And promote us as good ambassadors to the hobby. So you dont own the high road here. Our biggest worries are running into a cat, they have ate a few people here and are over populated.

We also ride during and after the rain, are you going to cry again?

Just go ride.
