Day after I started this thread… I check my Rise for an ongoing creak, and turns out that I have a major crack in the lower chainstay….. that will teach me to post something like this:(
Hopefully the warranty process is pretty quick.
I’m sure many of us are wondering how long our EP8RS can last.
This isn’t a scientific collection of data, thread but more of a nice to know how far riders have been able to ride without replacement.
I’ll start with mine, 1600miles no failures recorded… yet 🤞
As a follow up on this.
I did find additional information as to how to install this, on the Orbea blue paper page 90. Cable connects to motor.
Also, it requires 760mm length cable.
Any input from where these can be sourced?Seems like it is out of stock in most places.
I unfortunately got a branch stuck in my rear wheel of my Rise H, resulting in damaging the rear speed sensor unit, and the w101 error.

Anyone replaced these? Looks like the wire partly follows the rear brake hose, which...
FYI- I got these from bikebling.com, within 3days of ordering. I ordered one from Orbea 3 days ago and it still hasn’t shipped., likely a 10 day turnaround. They are very slow, thus the reason for alternative locations search from my end.
Bringing up this older thread back up.
Anyone know who has these derailleur hangers readily available in the US?
Everyone seems to have a 10 day lead time on these:…
Incorrect content in this review:
”The bike can handle a 160 mm fork, the H15 model even comes with one. Head angle drops to 65.5*. “
The bike comes with a 140mm and the h15 comes with a 150mm, not a 160mm.
160mm will drop the head tube to 64.9 which is inline with other bike brands! Swap...
TSB 157 leaves out one of the most critical requirements. Frequency!!!!
I’m assuming that checking this once for a hairline crack is not sufficient. Are the expectations for riders to check on the spindle conditions prior to every ride? How about during the ride as well, may be after a DH run or...
Thanks for the feedback.
Realize it’s a personal preference, just great to hear what others who have had these rigs for some time.
I was also interested as to the selected scale settings for “Assist Character “ and “Assist Level” for Dh/twisty where pedaling is needed. See pic for reference.
Coming from many years on a non emtb, I am looking at replicating that non powered feeling when going downhill on my recently purchased Rise, and put the bike in the Off settings. However, I feel that this slows the bike coming out dh turns that I typically pedal out of, and makes the bike too...
I have been told different things from Orbea resellers in the USA when I asked prior to receiving the bike. Apparently, as a result of shortages, some folks were getting 6bolt set ups, May be upgrades???
That happened to me last year on another bike purchase where components were upgraded as a...
My wheels were center lock, and my understanding is that it varies, and depends on available stock.
I had purchased a couple of 203 rotors 6 bolt in advance, and while you could use adapters, it wasn’t a great set up so installed another set of wheels with 6bolts instead.
For the H30, the front...
Nice set up! Is your shock stock length and travel, 210mmx55mm?
I’m also coming from a Ripmo and was waiting for an ibis ebike, but just ran out of patience.
What is your take on Ripmo vs Rise with respect to handling?
You likely won’t be able to use the same hoses with your 4 piston Deore...
