Thanks, that makes sense. So I guess it’s not designed as an anti-theft deterrent because no-one would know you have the lock mode. It’s just an inconvenience for any thieves and means the bike can’t be sold on etc if stolen.

I just updated my Kiox software through the app and the new Tour+ mode hasn’t appeared. Mine is a gen 4 motor, only bought a month ago. Not a problem but I just thought I’d mention that it doesn’t seem to appear automatically with the latest software update.
